The Sansui has a rounded picture tube, the RCA is flat. Flat tubes are more expensive. Both are CRT "Tube" type TVs.

it depends what you mean by classic. youll have to verify what you meant. im goin to go out on a limb and say you mean the difference of standard definition LCD and High Definition LCD. which in the case a SD LCD will only go up to 480p resolution which is what your tube tvs could display. where HD depending on the size of your tv could go up to 1080p. hope this helps

TV screen sizes are measured from top-corner to bottom-corner. Keep in mind that widescreen TVs (your LCDs and Plasmas) have different proportions to CRT (traditional) TVs, when looking at screen size.

i found this somewhere here on walmart.com thought it might help others:

LCD vs PLASMA

LCD (Flat Panel)
LCDs come in a range of sizes and have higher native resolution than plasmas of the same size. They tend to be easier to set up than plasmas and are known to be more durable. Their plastic screens also reflect less than plasmas’ glass. The downsides to LCDs are its narrow viewing angle, prices and traditionally poor black levels.

Plasma (Flat Panel)
Plasmas are known for producing top-notch image quality with excellent color and wide viewing angles. They are also available in very large screen sizes. The downsides are prices and the potential to suffer permanent screen damage if an unchanging image, such as a stock ticker or video game, is displayed too long.

I believe all Samsung brands have timers on them. I am also looking for a new TV with this feature. All Samsungs I have ever owned do have a sleep timer and a wake timer. Also I believe I found that Westinghouse does also.

Do you fix TVs?

I bought a TV from Walmart in February in Menomonie Wi. I now have the TV in Iraq with me. We had a power surge and now the TV doesnt work. Do you guys fix TVs? If not do you know where I can take it to get fixed?

This won't be covered under any warranty. All TV's have a fuse between the power cord and power supply inside the TV. With any luck you can remove the back cover and find the fuse blown and simply replacing the fuse will fix your problem. The worse scenario is that the surge got by the fuse and fried your power supply which can be expensive. Unless it's an expensive model I would consider purchasing another TV. If not wait to you get back state side and have a local TV repairman fix it. Shipping can get expensive. While over there, use a surge protecter. Thanks for what you do over there. America appreciates it:)
