Yes, it costs $10 and I highly recommend it. It's a replacement program, so when the product stopped working I got a gift card for the total I paid for the product (including taxes).

Will the Fisher-Price Kid Tough Portable DVD player play home recorded audio books in DVD format?
I am trying to find a player for my grandmother who recently suffered a stroke. She still understands books being read to her and enjoys audio books. However, being born in 1915 she is not confortable with new technology. Her hand cordination and vision is limited. We need easy to see and larger buttons. She has been listening on an ipod has no idea how to navigate this item. We are looking for an item she can enjoy.

The player has played prerecorded CD's, burned CD's and DVD's. I don't see why it would not play your audio books.

Yes the screen size is fine. It gives a good picture. And again this is a player ment for toddlers not adults. My 2 yr loves it.

Can you purchase additional battery packs?
I am taking my kids on a 4 hour plane trip and would like to purchase an additional battery for this DVD player. Does Fisher Price sell one or can another standard battery be used with this unit?

It has a standard rechargeable battery pak. you can check with your local "Batteries R Us". I suggest you take your old battery pak with you for correct size. I couldn't find it on fisher price web site. The only replacement parts they offered was the battery cover.

As far as I know. My grandchildren use it in the car with movies they already have. Not sure about the new blue tube movies.

No, it only has a socket for 1. The 'on the go' set includes a pair of headphones and a splitter for a second set along with a car adapter and AV cables/
