If you have never owned a memory foam mattress, most women think they are a little on the "firm" side and sleep a bit "warmer" than a traditional mattress. Memory foam mattresses don't very much in firmness unless you purchase some of the high end mattresses that are very expensive. I purchased this mattress last year and like it just fine, but then again, I like a "firm" mattress.

No this is the type of mattress that would be best on a platform or wooden slats base like that from Ikea. Ours sits on the wooden slat base and is great! But you can definitely put it on a mattress box if you wanted to. Just don't put it on the box set frame.

A box spring is not needed if you use a platform bed or purchase the Spa Sensation Smart Base. This item works as a frame and box spring providing 14" of storage under the bed. Check it out as it is a great deal and easy to set-up.

Is the mattress hot to sleep on?

I am not a hot sleeper, rarely do I wake up sweating. Since I have had this mattress it has become impossible for me to sleep without waking up in a pool of sweat. I gave up and now I am trying to return it. I tried all of the tricks and nothing has worked. Many people have given it rave reviews so maybe it's just something about different people but for me it has been awful. If you are worried about it though than it must be something to worry about and in that case, I wouldn't take the risk.

The high density is the base layer you will not be sleeping on it as it is used for support. The Memory Foam layer is 3.5 density and that is placed a top the high density. It would not be much warmer than sleeping on a traditional mattress. Just make sure and use and sheet and the advantages of the mattress should outweigh any additional warmth you might incur.

With memory foam mattresses, they do not come with box springs. It is just the mattress. You will need to either have a platform bed ( which you will not need a box spring ) or use the memory foam mattress on an existing box spring.

This is a mattress only. Depending on your bed style sometimes a box spring is not needed or you may use your old one. Wal-Mart also carries two great items the Spa Sensations Bi-Fold Box Spring and the Spa Sensations Smart Base (box spring not required with this platform). Take a look at the other exciting items and have fun shopping.

I haven't had any issues rolling from side to side or turning completely over in this bed. I was also worried about that as I'd slept on 'memory' foam mattresses as a guest overnight and in hotels and didn't like that I couldn't move easily.
I was very happy to find that this is not an issue with this bed.

I'm 5'9'' 180 lbs and I can shift easily - you sink in a little, but it's not quicksand. :) Your sheets will also contribute to the experience - you'll sink in more on a jersey sheet than on a standard linen sheet.

Bought it as a Black Friday sale. Yes, my mattress did not inflate either. Mine didn't even inflate an inch. As a matter of fact I was able to roll it back and put it in the same box as it came and able to take it back to Walmart. Very disappointed with Walmart and the manufacturer. If this had worked out I was going to by another one but needless to say, I won't be ordering another mattress online after this experience. I'm kind of glad that it didn't inflate at all, as opposed to half way through though. otherwise taking it back would have been a major pain. I noticed that the outside of the box had a big RED circle.

answer 5
Yep, same issue here. I have a 10" corner and the rest is 4" I believe this has to do with the fact that the ones we received were leftover/clearance units due to the Black Friday event. I got mine and it had a ship date of May, 2012. This mattress has been vacuum packed for 1.5 YEARS! No wonder its not inflating for me!. Most manufacturers recommend no more than 90 days in vacuum stasis. The long term storage of these mattresses is probably damaging them and they will not fully decompress. Either way, I keep looking at the thing everyday with hope, but ultimately I am going to have to figure out a way to get this thing down the stairs and into the car.

This is a tall mattress at 12 inches although not the tallest on the market right now. You will need deep pocket sheets for this one (expand usually from 12 to 18 inches). Traditional sheets that only go up to a 9 inch mattress height will not even begin to cover this mattress.

I have found in the 100% cotton and cotton flannel sheets they are made a bit larger than others (I refuse to sleep on anything but cotton). I don't dry them in a hot hot dryer nor do I wash them in hot water (hot water is how dyes are added to fabrics so cold water is better and saves on your power bill)

Ours only inflated to 10 1/2 inches. It didn't really bother us. I know there are other people who suggested taking off the cover and making sure you are inflating the mattress on the correct side (the bottom is firmer than the top and might make the mattress not inflate all the way). Just my two cents.

These mattresses typically take 48-72 hours to fully decompress, but they can take up to one week to fully decompress in some cases. You can sleep on the mattress during this time, sleeping on the mattress will not slow down the decompression process. If after this time, your mattress is not fully decompressed, please contact us at customerservice@zinusinc.com .

No, it does not. I've had mine for several years now and it's never sunk on either side. Keep in mind that your overall support depends on what foundation you're using. I'm using a regular box spring foundation. Some folks use nothing but a frame with wood slats or even metal wire mesh. That's going to make a difference in terms of your overall comfort. I would try a new foundation if you're experiencing any sinking.

I would recommend the 12" for more than 250lb. On an 8" the weight will weigh the foam down and it won't be as cushioned. My nephew is 275 lbs and the 12" is fine, but when he sat on the 8" it only had about 2-3" of cushion under him.

Probably depends more on what's under it (platform, solid wood or spa sensations base), but i weigh 200 lbs and have the 12" and it is fairly comfortable. If you prefer a firmer sleeping surface, flip it over--there is less cushioning on the bottom side, but for me it's more comfortable that way.
