It says "Remote mute silences nuisance alarms by pressing any button on a standard household remote control; remote control not included " which probably means any IR for your tv.

Question

Where do you install this?

I'm confused. I thought a CO detector should be mounted at least 5 feet off the ground, and a propane detector should be low to the ground. I like the idea of "all in one", but I'm not sure where to put it, or how far up. Where do you mount this?

6-12 inches down from ceiling for natural gas and carbon monoxide any higher is considered dead air and fumes wont reach sensors( as per instructions)

answer 2
If you have Gas Appliance, mount it Three feet below ceiling. For propane, mount it near the floor, it should detect CO anywhere you mount it. Install more CO detecter in or near sleeping areas and living areas

Question

Clarify description

I read that primary byproduct of burning natural gas (primarily methane) is CO2 and H2O. So what good is CO detector?

Your product description says CO detector has battery backup. What about explosive gas detector?

The C0 detector is an added feature which is always good to have since is a fire starts from any fuel source it will put off C0. look at it as another watchman just looking for CO during his/her tour to keep you safe.

The unit is not designed for pure battery use. You will be lucky to get 6 to 12 hours at best and this is a pure guess.
