Size 7 and smaller have the half elastic waist at the back, and 8 and bigger do not. There are no adjusters. My son is tall and thin...about a 6 slim waist and 8 length. 8 slim fit him perfect. Fit like a 6 slim in waist but long like an 8. If your kid is not skinny, I could see how people say they run small.

these jeans do NOT have a adjustable waist band, the front of the jean appears like any other brand and the back of the waistband is gathered elastic style. If your child is very thin then a "slim" will fit perfect if they are a little heavy buy "husky"

No. The description states that there's a back elastic waste band, there's not. There's no adjustable or regular elastic waste on these jeans. I left photos on my review, showing the wastes.

Yes they do. They have the elastic on the inside of the waistband to snug it up if needed.

No they do not have that feature, but my son always wears slims and needs the inside elastic bands, but did not need them on these jeans. They are slim enough to go without that and without a belt. Hope this helps!
