No,they are not. I have one of these scopes mounted in the rings that came with it. When I look through the square-shaped hollow in the rings, all I see is the bottom of the objective bell (the housing for the front lens of the scope).

If you had this scope on your Marlin 336, you wouldn't be able to use the iron sights unless you took it off. Also, this is not a good scope for a Marlin 336. I would recommended you use something else.

answer 1
no you cannot , you need a long eye relief scope... look at the specs if they eye relief is 3 inches that means you must have your eye 3 inches from the scope...

not possible on a revolver eh?
ask for a long eye relief pistol scope or google one.
answered 3 years, 6 months ago
By
Dredsen
answer 2
You should not mount this scope on any type of handgun. This scope must be located within a few inches of the users eye, for proper vision through it. The recoil of almost any handgun would drive the scope into the shooters eye. Only scopes listed as PISTOL SCOPES should be mounted on handguns. They are designed to be held at arms length from the shooters eye.

This is quite a large scope for a revolver. I dont think that would be a good choice. This scope is a rifel scope for high power rifels and big game hunting.

I highly doubt it. It would seriously dwarf the revolver in my opinion. Go with a scout style scope if you really need it, less magnification than 4-16 also. No need for it.

answer 5
WAY too big of a scope for that, and the eye relief is meant for a rifle, not a pistol. When mounting on a pistol you need a scope that is meant ONLY for pistols because you need LONG eye relief meaning your eyes are MUCH further away from the scope on a pistol.

yes, but it would be foolish

a 2-6 power would be all you want on a scope, and this scope does not have sufficient eye relief to use on a pistol

you should hear clicks.

One thing the instructions doesn't tell you is that after you zero in..to RESET the zero use the alen wrench and losen on top...and the trick is to pull on on the dial then turn so that you do not hear any clicking ..if you hear clicking.. you did not reset the zero right... after you tighten with allen wrench( carefully) you should hear clicking when turned.

Try putting a laser bore sighter in your barrel and aim at a target about 50 yards away. When you turn the knobs you should see the cross hairs move in relation to where your laser pointer is aiming. Make sure your knobs are not in the "lock" position. HTH.

battery which is included is for the luminated mil dot crosshairs. red or green. with variable brightness. I usually do not use it, I keep it at off and just use the black mil dot.
although it was very useful when the target was black/dark.
I'd say it let in enough light to get the job done. but it's no Nikkon or Luipold.

The battery powers the lumination of the crosshairs and it works great at dusk and dawn. But keep in mind it is not a night vision scope and can only perform in light not darkness.

It lights up the reticle, choice of Red or Green. It is not the absolute 'best' for low light. but personally when it gets to that point where the scope doesn't show very well. It is really a time you should be stopping anyway, Well atleast for me it is. and i have very good night sight...

Question

Is this scope good for deer hunting?

I have a marlin .30-.30 lever action and I am fed up with Tasco scopes. I never have any luck out of them. So, would this center point work good for deer hunting on a Marlin 30-30? Since it would be going on a 30-30 you know the range I would be shooting and oh yeah, about 40% of my hunting area is brushy.

I wouldn't use it for deer, since i presume you will be using the 30-30 at typical ranges. I don't plan to use mine for deer on my .308. I prefer a simpler setup with fixed objective and 3-9 power for deer. For example, i used a 3-9 fixed objective scope on my .223 for deer last year at 177 laser measured yards. Scope was set on 5 power for quick acquisition. Worked fine...less to worry about.

Yes, You can use this scope on a Marlin, as they are 'side ejection'. Just get the appropriate blocks and Weaver med height rings, and you will be fine !HOWEVER, this is not good for 'bush' work, as too many things to adjust ( Parallex for example ), for under 100 yards. I would go for a fixed 4X for bush work up to 150 yards.

I have one on my Savage model 93...which is a .17 HMR. It is an awesome little weapon. I also have one on my Savage model 64 semi auto that I bought at Wal Mart. Again it is an awesome set up. Talk to the folks at the counter at the hunting dept. One other thing. I get a lot of good information from some of the lady clerks. I bought my first Centerpoint scope from a 70 yr. old grandma that started hunting squirrels before I was born. I will be 56 years old next month. This lady sure knows her squirrel rifles and scopes.

The 4x16x40 comes with a 1" mount that will not fit most .22 rifles. You can always buy a ring set that will work for you. Center Point makes a 3x9x32 that comes with the dovetail mounting rings on them and is about $15 cheaper. Still has the mil-dots and illumination but the windage and elevation knobs are not able to be reset after zero like the 4x16. Hope this helps. You can check it out at the center point website.

Actually, yes it is, centerpoint is made by crosman, the airgun manufacture, BUT, the mounts are for a weaver rail, so you would have to get other mounts if your airgun has an 11mm dovetail. Numerous airgun retailers carry it for airguns. "Springer" air rifles have a harsher "two-way recoil."
