The stock pot lid fits the smaller frying pan. The large frying pan does not have a lid.

All I cook on is electric. I've owned my red-speckled cookware for 3 months & nothing has chipped or burned off. This is why I love it more than any cookware I've ever owned. I'm 58 & have been cooking since the age of 16 - hope that tells you something. I don't lie when it comes to products I purchase.
I used to use the old fashioned roasting pan - now it's the Paula Deen open grill. It's wonderful. After roast, chicken, ribs, etc are removed from pan - put a couple of drops of liquid dish soap with hot water, let it soak for a few minutes & pan almost cleans itself - like a self cleaning oven! It saves a lot of time & less work on the "dishwasher". LOL!

I have a glasstop electric stove and I have had no problems. I read that you should not put it on the highest setting and don't let any of it boil dry. No problems so far.

I must say NO,NO,NO this is not dishwasher safe.Like one of the reveiws stated it turned their interior tub red.And I have purchased other pcs. of this and it does say HAND WASH ONLY. Usually colored enamal will fade. And most non-stick surfaces will be damaged after the surface is washed in dishwasher alot.

Mine did. The red-speckled Paula Deen cookware set was less expensive AND had a bonus sauce pan with lid ONLINE Walmart site. I was thrilled & didn't hesitate to purchase. I had already seen the cookware at the store checking prices. My husband knows I'm a smartshopper & conservative with money. When he heard I had ordered it site-to-store (FREE SERVICE), he knew I got a good deal!
The red-speckled cookware set is ABSOLUTELY SCRUMPTIOUS!

Per online all the colored sets have 10 pieces (4 pots, 2 pans, 4 lids). I would suggest checking with each store since merchandise at each store differs. I have the red set and it did not come with a bonus pan, but I got my set at Christmas.

No, they are supposed to be hand washed. They clean easily and after almost a year, mine do not have dark rings or spots on the bottom. They still look almost brand new. I own the red set.

According to the manufacturer if the cookware is not listed on their site as "dishwasher safe" then do not place the item in the dishwasher. Link to the list: http://meyer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/97/kw/dishwasher%20safe%3F/r_id/166

answer 3
No. These are not dishwasher safe, but the clean-up time is minimum, no time at all. Even if they were dishwasher safe, I would still clean by hand just to keep the finish looking good.

Question

Why is paint fading?

This was a Chrismas gift I received and only after a few uses my paint is fading after being washed. It is literally wiping off while drying. Is this typical? I am very disapointed in this cookware.

no that is not normal. I have had mine for almost a year...use them everyday...sometimes several times a day and have not had any problems. sounds like a defect problem or are you using on high heats and washing them in the dishwasher?

answer 2
There could be several reasons. First of all, are you putting your pans in the dishwasher? If so, high heat temps and harsh detergents could be the problem.
Also, using any harsh cleaner will cause problems with your cookware.

I received mine as a Christmas gift in 08. Mine also faded and look just AWFUL! I contacted PD enterprises and was told it was because I washed them via the dishwasher. These pots/pans are HANDWASH ONLY. Bummer. They apparently tell you this in the care instructions now; mine sure didn't though.

You can use them on a gas stove (I do and haven't had any problems), but I wouldn't put them in the oven. The handles have a rubberized comfort coating that might not fare well.
