Questions & Answers for Shakespeare Sigma Low Profile Baitcast Reel

Question
Should you use a bait casting reel for freshwater
My son seems to think that a bait caster is the best rod for fishing from the shore versus a spinning reel. I would like some feed back into this. Thank you very much!!

I fish about 4 to 7 days a week on inland lakes in Michigan(When the weather lets me ) and I use both. If you are a good fisherman with alot of fishing under your belt I would use a bait cast they seem to me to be stronger and you can cast them real far but if you don't use one much they are hard to get the hang of.If you don't fish alot I would recommend a spinning reel they don't backlash so they are easier to use.
