This one has seat belts, but they are not like the ones you find in strollers with a clip/quick release on them. They are long velcro straps the secure the child to the seat and do not "lock".

We purchased ours from Walmart.com for $299 on July 26, 2012 and it does not have the large speakers in the back. The speakers are in the dash. There is a small bucket-like cargo area behind the seat. My son likes to carry stuff in there.

answer 1
Probably not. We used a truck to pick it up and it filled most of the bed. I was able to transport just the box home in my Odyssey van with the 3rd seat down flat and the 2nd row seats folded forward. Definitely won't fit in a standard car trunk.

No, this is large enough that it will not fit in the back of an SUV without laying the seats down.

Cheap plastic

answer 3
No, they are plastic with no grip and the wheels spin on unlevel terrain. My husband fixed that problem with old lawn mower tires. He just cut a strip and screwed it to the middle of both back tires all the way around. No more getting stuck in little dips.

answer 6
Nope. Plastic so they tend to "burn plastic" until they grip the road from a standstill but that's part of the fun. I tried spraying on a silicon rubber compound to the 4 tires a while back but it didn't help. Car is great though. We still use the one we bought 6 years ago and handed it down to our second boy.

Question

Our son is 50" tall -- would he be too tall for this?

Our son is 50" tall -- would he be too tall for this? He is also 75lbs, but cannot walk yet (cerebral palsy). He is developing good trunk control, and I think this would be fun for him, but wondered if he was too tall or too heavy for it. He is 6 years old.

Definitely not too big. My daughter is 60 inches and just over 100 pounds and drives it just fine. I think your son would love it. I would probably suggest keeping the speed control screw in so it stays at the slower speed until he has a stronger trunk. It takes off pretty quickly.

I don't think he's too big for it. My 3 year old is 48 inches and weighs 52 pounds. He also drives his one year old brother all the time and he weighs 25 lbs. Both my kids weigh a little more than your son. I would get it for him! He will LOVE IT! My boys do and we've had it for 15 months. I recommend getting a second battery because the heavier they child is the faster it runs down. Ours lasts about an hour and a half still. Also cut strips of rubber lawnmower tires and screw them to the middle of the two back tires to get great traction otherwise on unlevel terrain the tires will spin.

I believe 130 pounds is the limit, so you should be good there. However, you might try to get him into one before buying it; at 50", his knees might be against his chest while driving.....

This would definitely be fine for 75 lbs. my 11 year old is about 56 inches tall and she can get in but is kind of tall but still works for her. Have you ever tried horseback riding for your son?? this also helps kids develop trunk control, balance, and puts a smile on their face that will warm your heart.

Yes, it has reverse, low and high. Low is 2.5 mph & high is 5 mph. It does have speakers but they are internal. Toys-R-Us has the 2 speakers in the bed of the truck where as Wal-mart only has them sounds like under the dash. I like the Wal-mart better because my boys put things in the little bed of the truck.
