NO it is designed to fill your gut with the fiber making your stomach 'feel' fuller so you eat less. You can try it your way, but it may not work as well. A suggestion might be to take it when you know a meal is coming, say when you walk into the restaurant, or when yo ustart cooking the food, etc. 30 minutes is NOT a magic number that will make it not work if you are not exact, it is a good suggestion though as it takes TIME for your stomach to say 'I'm full that's enough'.

it doesn't necessarily have to be 30 minutes before a meal, just when u know that meal time is coming up take it. but its better that u take it prior to a meal, because thats the purpose of it, it cuts hunger, suppresses it, so it needs at least 10-15mins inside the body to do such
