is mintute tapioca the same as tapioca?

It really depends. Minute tapioca is great for using in pie fillings since it gives a glossy sheen and thickness. Regular tapioca which is what the above item is has larger pearls so it might look a little funny in your pie! And then there's tapioca flour which is great for making gluten free bread.
