Apparently Garmin maps are updated every 12 to 18 months. The current update (6/2008) if you don't fit the "free" category is available through WalMart stores @ $68.88 US$ on disk, OR obviously through Garmin.com by download and likely by dvd as well.

You can buy maps for Brazil from Garmin.com.
Go to this site https://buy.garmin.com/shop/buymaps.do

Type in your Garmin model, select South America, then select 'on the road' and voila! You can now buy the Brazil map online for $99.99. Make sure to update your GPS after installing the map. Keep it plugged in to your computer for at least 1 or 2 hrs. Good luck!

There are small ads but they don't occupy much space at all. Check this screen shot: http://www.gpsmagazine.com/assets/review-nuvi265wt/IMG_0110b.jpg

Try Garmin nüvi® 465T or Nuvi 5000. The latter has a 5.2" screen. Here's the recommendation from Garmin website

Question
When coming to an intersection and make the correct turn as suggested does the GPS let you know that you are indeed on right road?
My last GPS made a beep to let me know I was correct and I liked this feature. Also, on highways my last GPS would show the main routes as a big sign on the screen with the correct route brighter than the wrong route does this unit do this?

this unit beeps when you are "at" the turn - not if you made the correct turn. You old unit probably also worked this way!!

It shows a clear bold line on the map to indicate your path. There's no need to brighten/darken as you describe. Its extremely clear which way you are supposed to follow.

Yes. The GPS immediately gives the next waypoint and distance, along with the name of the street or highway on which you are travelling.

You have to have the Garmin plugged into the power cord in order to see the "Traffic" icon ~ the traffic receiver is built into the power cord

You have to be in an area that broadcasts traffic reports. Advertizing works locally but traffic does not work until I get to Chicago area.

Question
Will the Nuvi 265WT and Nuvi 760 direct you not only to street but the street address as well? Example: Will they direct me to 1725 Anderson Cove Road
Most units will direct you to the street only but my interest includes directions to the street address as well.

tried both units and they take you to the front door or in most cases close to it. I just bought the 265 wt, with my home address it took me about a mile away but did direct me to the same house number with the same zip code, seems where i live 3 towns share the same zip code, so I don't blame the gps for getting it wrong. I'm an over the road truck driver, went from Pa to fl on last run and the 265 took me to the front door of every place I entered

My 350 would direct me to the front door. I don't know about the 265WT or the 760 as neither of them would work enough for me to know.
