I am running without an amp and find the 52 watts adeguate. I didn't use the preouts I don't think unless it was incorporated in the wiring plug. If the pre-amp outs are only the RCA jacks i did not use them,

It has a regular Mini-plug that will work with all mp3 players but you will have to use the zune controls to navigate and play songs.

This item runs on 12V DC electrical input. Household current is 110V AC. This makes it inapropriate for under the kitchen counter use. Sorry. Keep shopping, I'm sure you can find what you need.
