No it is not attached to the grill. It is loose.

The "drip catcher" as you call it is not attached to the grill. It sits underneath to catch any runoff oil and then can be put into the dishwasher or cleaned separately for your convenience.

Yes it is.. The power light goes on when it is heating or trying to maintain the temperature it should be at. When it has reached the right temperature, the light goes out.

depending on the size of your burgers anywhere from 2 very large to three normal sized burgers. Chicken breasts if they are of larger porportioned two is the limit. :0)

THE OWNER'S MANUAL SAYS YES THE GRILL PLATES ARE DISHWASHER SAFE. NOT SURE ABOUT THE SPATULA OR DRIP TRAY.

They are supposed to be dishwasher safe, but I don't trust it. All nonstick coatings scrape off eventually! The plates clean easily by hand, and I prefer to be gentle with them so they will last a long time.

This model comes with two removeable grill plates. Both of them are the basic kind with raised ribs to hold the food in place. Plus the main design feature of the Foreman grills is the TILTED cook surface for draining grease. Not recommended for waffles. There are other models that will do that, however.

does any grease miss the drip tray?
I bought the smaller(red) model 72"cooking surface and it cooks great but makes a mess when most of the grease misses the drip tray and drips (under the grill)
