Yes they are twist type. No matter how you adjust the front, you can only get it to operate in 1 and 3, or 2 and 3. Adjusted it from one end to the other and there is no middle point where you can have all 3 gears engage properly or stay in gear. The rear was an easy fix to adjust to where it would engage and stay in all 7 gears and not be noisy, but the front is another story altogether. Packing it back up and returning it to the store, our Son rode it about a half a block before the chain locked up.

The recommended weight limit is 275 lbs for all 26 inch bikes but not all bikes are made the same. Bikes like the XR-200, XR-250, and DH team are all very heavy duty bikes and have a higher max weight limit. I've built a couple of these and I would say 350 lbs would be the limit.

There is no published weight limit as riding conditions and maintenance has more impact on the performance and longevity of the bicycle

For trail riding I would say it would be perfectly fine, but with the street riding I would caution it. The bike has a fairly nice suspension system but it was designed for mud, rocks, and trails not aspalt and concrete.

Yes I use it for mountain biking. The fat tires might make it not so comfortable for street riding though.

Question
Weight Limit on Bicycles
As the name says, I need to know what the weight limit is on these (or any Bikes really that are made for adults). I bought an XR-75, and the rear wheel popped the first use. Supposedly, Bicycles have a limit of at least 400 lbs, and I don't weigh that much.

All I know is that while I don't make jumps or run over large bumps while riding this bike, it still holds up to my 320 pounds nicely on some uneven terrain near my house. I even discovered after checking the bike after a ride that the rear wheel spring has a 350lb rating sticker and is adjustable to how stiff or soft you would like it to be?

Question
what is "walmart warrantee"?
Under "Warrantee" there is a link for "see details". These details specify "Walmart Warrantee applies". What is this? (in "FIND" box at top, enter "Walmart Warrantee" and it says "not found" (!))

Walmart offers a warranty on bikes (cost extra), its around $20 for a year and guarentees any repairs after the first 90 days. If you something breaks on the bike, just take it to your local walmart and they can replace or order the parts needed to fix it. This does exclude flat tires though.
