I got the answer for you. First off, the instructions are useless-so dont bother with audio input-it will drive you crazy on something so simple. I have a 47'' RCA, when I use the (RCA)surround sound remote, it turns on/off the T.V. The big kicker is they give you a 2-3ft yellow audio cable that says it's the audio cable for the T.V. Imagine the red, white, & yellow cables you normaly use to hook up a DVD player. It's the same cable, but only 1, the yellow. It suggest that if you hook it to your T.V. you will get audio. Who use 3 seperate cables for audio N visual, they normaly come in 3 together (red, white, yellow). Anyway-discard that lonley yellow cable or use it to tie your shed shut. You will have to buy a component cable, about 3 to 5 bucks depending on the lenght. It's a cable thats exactly like head phones jacks, but it's the same on both ends (male). Plug that into the right front of your sytem,(audio) then on the back of your T.V., plug it into the component slot (it's a small hole that looks like headphones jacks). Without this cable, you cant hear your T.V. sound on your selected channels, so go buy the cable, plug it in to your headphones jack & enjoy. When I plugged it into my T.V., for some reason it didnt want to stay in the hole, I used a little force-then I heard my sounds coming from the speakers. HINT: I turn the volume half way up on the T.V., all the way down on the surround systems remote. Then adjust your volume from your surrounds remote, it brings out the audio better n cleaner. If you turn your volume all the way up on your T.V. and listen, it sounds distorted-too much bass/power. So halfway on your set-then the surround sound remote control volume is used. So for 88 bucks, it's o.k
