no. what comes with the pool is not solar and for when we bought ours it was well worth it b/c it heated the pool to a comfortable temp in a matter of two days.

No the cover a solar cover....you can buy one at a "Pool & Spa" store though. They are relatively cheap...varying from 20-40 dollars depending on the size of your pool

This filter pump that came with it is plenty big enough! It works great. I wouldnt spend more money for something that you do not need. I use this filter pump and my pool is very clean and works wonderfully!

we have a dog, but he is not around it, I think he would eat it in no time flat, the hoses are not that great, but the pool itself is very strong vinyl

most likely due to not being level enough-- i'm here to tell ya by trial and error- 1 to two inches off is all it takes for the weight to build and spontaneously dump the water and then it is a real pain because the water expels and then falls below pump level and air gets in and it stops working- LEVEL is the key! Take time on that step and the pool is so much easier to maintain and less to deal with all summer.

Sounds like your ground is not leveled. Let the water out, then either move the pool to more level ground or make the area level with dirt. Refill the pool and make sure the bottom is flat as possible and the bottom sides are pushed out evenly like they show you in the video. Also, check the dark blue inflatable ring. If it's not aired up properly, it'll make the water come out. Hope this helps.

All I used was clorine tabs using a floating automactic dispenser, You might have too shock it once in a while depending your conditions.

I would say that the bottom and top are the same, it gets bigger in the middle due to the round shape.

Do I have to fill the pool to the max water capacity?

My son is almost four and is approx 39" tall. I would like to only fill the pool to about 32" so that he can stand up in the pool without his mouth and nose being under the water. By not filling the pool to the max capacity, will that cause the sides to collapse more easily?

Based on my experience, you should be able to underfill it a bit without problems. During the fill, it is very stable and should remain so. The only catch is that the area in which you place the pool needs to be very level.

The complete system does come with one. I found it helpful to soften the feel of the bottom of the pool (between some rounded pebbles I had to put down to raise the side). Also, as bad as this sounds, It will keep the grass dead near the pool - so I won't need to use the weed trimmer next to the pool itself - which I think will help the longevity of the pool.
