SX Combo Heart Rate Monitor
I don't have a manual for this watch, and it's obviously complicated. Does anyone know where I can get one from? Thanks

I have a Sportline SX, and I found that the manual for Sportline DUO 1010 is a perfect substitute for the SX manual. You can find it online at:
http://www.sportline.com/manuals/DUO_1010.pdf

Also, I should note that the DUO 1010 manual showed me a cool feature that I never knew existed on my SX: the ability to save battery and LCD life by turning the screen off during non-use by holding in the Reset key for 5 seconds.

Question
Can anyone please tell me how to reset this watch after each exercise session?
I have read and reread the pamphlet. It's not the most helpful ever written. What is annoying is that sometimes, it resets by simply holding the reset button. Duh. Other times (I should say MOST TIMES) I can spend upwards of 20 mins trying to figure it out. WHY the difference? WHAT am I doing wrong most times but right the others?

Also, anyone else noticed the calories burned seems a little.... GENEROUS?

To reset the data collected by the watch you must be in heart monitor/chronograph mode which is the first mode you get to by pressing the mode button once when in std watch mode.

If the timer is running, press and hold the SS button till it stops. Make sure that you hold long enough to stop the timer and not just switch to the next lap. Once the timer is stopped and the watch is no longer collecting data, press and hold the reset button for 2 seconds. This will reset all the counters; time below zone, time in zone, time above zone, calories burned, fat burned, etc. This also clears the counters displayed in the memory mode which is merely a re-display of data collected in the monitor/chronograph mode.

Pressing Reset or SS by accident while working out would make me mad because all the entries would be erased... so I used my common sense and =D I figured out how to reset the watch, you just have to press and hold SS + Reset buttons at the same time. This way you won't erase your entry by accident.

Hope this helps!

I WISH I could figure this out - I'm with you! I spend more time trying to reset it sometimes than I do working out. It's aggravating - all I get are more and more laps. I wish the instructions were clearer in this regard.

The caloric burn is REALLY generous - but I just use it as a general guide anyway.

If you have a chest strap, then you have to put that on. Then go to exercise mode. It should feed you the pulse on the watch. If you do not have a chest strap, I would think the one touch is all you have to measure your pulse. Once you take the pulse with one touch, it locks it in until you take it again. You have to also be in exercise mode, then press one touch.
Hope this helps. When all else fails, read the manual :)
