We bought the saltwater system from walmart and it is working fine on this pool.

answer 2
That is true unless you want to change out the entire filtration system including the way it hooks up to the pool. It is not a Intex pool.
I have tried it and it would cost me more than what the pool is worth

I answered this under a similar question. Yes you can, I don't know why some say you can't. The saltwater system by Intex comes with adaptors that fit the hoses on this pools filter. I am using it and it is working great.

The person that said it holds 12,000 - 13,000 gallons is so very wrong!!! The pool would need to be 24' x 52". Intex's site says the 24' x 52" is 12,481 gallons. A 20' x 48" would be approx. 8,000 gallons since the 18' x 48" is 6,423 gallons. Intex's site has a chart that shows gallons but does NOT list this size being sold!

I hope this helps!

We just bought this pool and there is no ground cover that comes with it. The skimmer is built in to the pump and filter system. It comes with one filter cartridge. You have to purchase more about every 2 weeks. Depending on use.

The leaks in my pool were so small, we didn't see any sign of the first one for 3 days. In that time, it made a wet spot the size of a medium potato---it wasn't spraying at all. The second one was even less evident. I keep checking for more but, luckily, so far I haven't found one. For the money, I think you're bound to see something like this and if all it takes is a couple small patches ( I found some great ones that work underwater so you don't have to drain the pool), it's well worth it. Right now, I don't have the money to buy a $6000 pool and this one fits the bill perfectly.

I wouldn't say it's normal to have leaks, but I had 2 leaks in mine also. They were easily repaired and so far, it's been great. These leaks were also on the seams

No. I would take it back immediately- even if you are not worried about keeping the water level at a certain place- you'll never be able to keep your chlorine and ph levels right with water leaking out and being replaced.

Here is a calculation for pool water volume:
length X Width X Average Depth X Multiplier = Gallons
Round or Oval pool: multiplier = 5.9
Rectangle, square, or free-form pool:multiplier = 7.5.
For round pools use Diameter X Diameter instead of length X width
Answer= 9440

This is NOT a filter! You in fact have to run the filter system while it is running. The saltwater system uses current to convert the salt in the pool to chlorine it isnt a filter. I do have one and love it.

Yes, I've seen the saltwater filter sold in some packages with these pools. They eliminate the need for chlorine & other chemicals since you use pool salt it's like swimming in soft tap water.

There are several options that you can do, there is a cheap kit at Wal-Mart (apx. $20.00) which includes a skimmer and a vac, but my recomendation is purchase the vac that attaches to the filter system and the skimmer head. This option costs alittle more but is well worth it.

I have left our pool up for the last 4 years. That's how long I've had it. I have a winter cover for it. It winches on so that it cannot blow off. Then I went to our pool and spa man and he told me what chemicals to use. In the spring I uncover the pool to crystal clear water. All I need to do is revamp the chemicals let the water warm up and enjoy. I live in Oregon.
