I could not find the salt at WM so I went to Lowes and purchased the salt pellets 99.8% pure. It disolved quite fast and is doing the job just fine.

We found Pool Salt at our local home improvement store since our local Wal-Mart was sold out. They now have it again, but try your local Wal-Mart and if no luck, then the local home improvement store.

NO!!!! And mine broke as soon as I tried to put it together!! But you can order a platform from the Intex store on line. I ordered one, haven't got it yet. I'll let you know how sturdy it is afterwards, as for now you gotta try not to shake to much when your climbing it!!

It has a very small platform that I always step around. It's a little wobbly. It's not great but it does the job (for now).

People, keep in mind one of the reasons these pools can be offered so inexpensively, is because the filters are not very sophisticated . Do yourself a favor and buy the salination pump offered by Walmart/Intek and replace the one that came with your pool. They are great and will filter the water in these sizes of pools wonderfully. Best of all no chemicals!!

The B filter is to small in my opinion. We live in a rural area and are cleaning our filter twice a week. In fact, I came on here looking for an answer about the addition of a sand filter, to help with problems.

NOTE, I emailed the Intex office three days ago about using it with this filter, pump system and still no reply from them.

Question

I see that this pool is 48" deep. The true water depth is important to me. Does 48" mean that you get 48" of water or is the fill line below 48"?

Your water level is about 4 inches from the top of the frame, but still feels and swims like a 48" pool.

answer 2
The fill line is below 48". I have a 48" pool, and the 48" is talking about the height of the pool as set up, not the water height inside. After you fill it to 90% capacity (recommended height) you will probably get about waist-to chest-high water (if you're 5' or above tall). If you want a deeper pool, then get one that has a 52" depth.

Question

How does the Salt Water Filter System work?

We are looking to purchase this pool and don't quite understand how the Salt Water Filtering system works. Is the water salt water after it is filtered? Or does the system use salt in place of chlorine?

The system works like this. It takes the salt that is in the water, and using (safely) electic cells in the pump causing the water to naturaly clorinate. It does not smell or taste like clorine, it is just a natural process. I worked for a plant here and they use the same process. I guess the only reason I really understood the process was because I worked at a plant in which we clorinated the water in the same manner. It has a timer in which you set it to clorinate (2-6 hrs depending on the climate where you live). That's it! Oh you will have to change the filer now and then, but not as much as you would with a pool that you put the chemicals in.

It is a saltwater chlorinator. The system turns the salt into a type of chlorine. I dont know all the details but i understand that much. Our pool has been up for about 3 weeks and the tester strips show everything is normal. I love it, so easy to maintain!

I made the same mistake at first until I watched the video. The legs can be plumb side to side, but the bottoms are to be pulled away from the pool, kinda slanted against pool. This pool is designed this way to give the pool stability when people are in it slashing around making the pool shake back and forth. if you do this the belt will be tight. The main thing is that the rope is tight!!!

Question

What size pavers would I use under the legs?

I have read all the reviews and am curious as to what size pavers to put under the legs to keep them from sinking? Also, would the pavers help to level the pool if it is off slightly?

I wouldn't recommend pavers at all. We don't use them and the foot on each leg moves to fit the contoure of the ground it is sitting on. I think that the instalation video / book reccomended not useing pavers. We have had no problems at all with movement of the legs. And we've put the pool up twice now, useing the same spot. The blue tarp that comes with the pool helps stop shifting of the legs. The pool is sort of self leveling if you have your ground prepared pretty level.... Hope this helped.
