I bought this product and a Platform bed from here and the platform bed came with slats, well i just put a thick piece of waferboard (roofing board) under is on top of the slats, works perfectly. Extremely comfortable.

I suppose you could put a piece of thick plywood under it, but, I have a box spring I have had for many years, and it didn't make a bit of difference. The mattress is wonderful, I do have back problems & arthritis. I love it.

No. Your best bet is to place it on a platform. The more rigid the base the better.

Is there a heat factor???

Foam tends to hold heat and I also have an additional problem of being too hot when I sleep. I had this problem with the memory foam mattress topper.

Yes, it's still too hot, I sleep with no covers on or just a sheet, on my side of the bed. Don't make the mistake of thinking that a memory foam topper with the holes in it is any cooler, because it ain't !! If it states that it's cooler ...... it's not. But, gotta have my memory foam, so, whataya do.

I know what you mean there, I have the problem of sweating when I sleep. I haven't noticed any difference, I think that's just a body malfunction. I do sleep with a fan on.

No you are suppossed to put this on your box springs.

We also put one of these in a queen size in an rv which is a platform bed- it worked out great there too- have owned it a year.

Like other readers we found it a bit firm but we did the same put a softer topper on it and its absolute luxury and all for under $400.

I have an 8" memory foam mattress now. It's like sleeping on plywood, there is no give. I am very petite, under 100 lbs. Would this mattress be too firm for a small person? It's a lot of money to spend just to find out its what I already have.

Hi, Where did you find 8" MF matteress firm like Plywood? I want to buy. To answer your question, this is mid-firm, comfortable matteress. For just soft-firm you can try Sam's club 214/- matteress. It has good cover too. Good luck.

Absolutely "no" It will be the most comfortable sleep you probably ever had. A very small or large person will have the same feeling "great" You will be glad to pay twice the asking price once you have slept on it.

I calculated density with weight and dimmension and find that Mem/Foam should be 3lb dens. and PU foam should be 1.8lb dens. But let me tell you that by touching it feels mid. firm but when we sleep on it, it feels like comfortable firm but not very firm. My friend bought 12" spa sensetion and it is real Firm. But my wife and I like this 8" Slumber. We both weight 156lb.

I found no info on a warranty in the few papers that came with the mattress and saw no mention of it on the box.
You can register the product to you by mail, but no mention of warranty.

Is this available in sizes other than king/cal king.

In the drop down size menu, the only two options are king/cal king. I also want to trim this mattress to custom shape/size. I've heard you can use an electric knife to do this.

I wouldn't cut this mattress. It isn't like a foam topper. It comes with a protective cover around it like an ordinary mattress. Do not cut this one. It does come in twin, full and queen.
