Question

Is this a good option for wooden stairs?

I have free-floating wooden stairs to our second level, the type that are open in the back. I'm looking for a lightweight vacuum that won't blow the dust around as I try to capture cat hair and dustballs. Do you think this will this fit the bill? Thanks!

This would work great for your needs as long as you only turn the switch to "hard surfaces" setting. This hard surface setting only allows suction without the movement of the brush. Thus not allowing dirt etc to be brushed into the air.

That's a hard one.

It's light weight, compared to corded uprights. It handles very well.
Being that your steps have open backs though, you would still need to exercise much caution to prevent running off the back of the steps which is true with any upright. Also, there is no option for hand attachments like a hose or removing the vac unit to use as a handheld like some models. Personally I really like this vac.

Yes, it would work well for wooden stairs, but if you don't need the brushroll (and you don't unless you are doing some rugs or carpets) you can probably get a cheaper cordless stick vac without the brush roll feature.

Question

is there a nozzel attachment?

asked 3 years, 9 months ago
By

on Hoover LiNX Cordless Stick Vacuum, BH50010W

Answers
answer 1
No, there is no nozzle attachment. This is not like some of the cordless vacuums that are very light-weight and designed to pick up and vacuum furniture or drapes. It is best used just for floors and stairs - though it is a bit bulky for stairs. Small hand-held cordless vacuums are better for stairs. This is a much more powerful vacuum than our old Dirt Devil cordless.

Question

My cat leaves hair on my bed, will this get that up easily?

My cat has her own lazy boy recliner that she sleeps in all day, but as soon as I leave my bedroom, she sneaks onto my bed and sometimes I wake up in the morning to find her sleeping there next to me (I have navy sheets she has white fur, my bed looks so bad once she gets up!).

While I still will need this for my sheet vinyl flooring, my number one need is for my bed and my second need is for my cat's recliner, then the floor is my third concern.. Is this the vacuum for me?

answer 5
Probably not. It picks up pet hair very very well on smooth floors it's okay for a quick pickup on rug or carpet. I just bought the hand-held version of this vacuum and it has an attachment that is great for pet hair (on the recliner and sheets), but not practical for floors.

The two units use the same battery and charger.

I am very pleased with the performance for my applications.

Wal-Mart's canopy sheets aren't 1,000 thread count, but they are really nice quality. Get yourself a set of white sheets. LOL

Its not the greatest at picking up cat hair. There is no dust buster type capability making it awkward to put the entire vacuum on the bed. Plus the hair pickup was mediocre at best.

I LOVE THIS VACUUM FOR MY FLOORS. I HAVE TWO CATS THAT SLEEP IN MY BED (ON NAVY SHEETS) & ON MY LAZBOY RECLINERS...NO KIDDING...I USE A STICKY ROLLER ON MY SHEETS & THE ATTACHMENTS FROM MY DYSON ON THE FURNITURE...I DON'T THINK YOU COULD USE THIS ON YOUR CHAIR OR YOUR BED...IT WOULD BE EXTREMELY AWKWARD. FYI
THIS VACUUM DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB PICKING UP KITTY LITTER AND KITTY HAIR FROM FLOORS & CARPETS...I USE MINE TWICE A DAY JUST FOR QUICK PICK-UPS...

The battery is very easy to remove, just lift a lever. It is about 1/2 the size of a paperbook. The charger is small and can be plugged anywhere you want...just put the battery in and that's it.

The instruction book recommends that you do not leave the battery in the charger for an extended period of time, other than the initial charging. The instruction book is easy to understand.

Depends,

You can vac only, or use the rotating brushes and vac which uses more power.

Also, on hard floor or carpet?

Generally I'd say around 15 min. Great for spot vacuuming or small houses. It's the best cordless vac I've owned, but don't think you will be able to completely throw out your corded.

The battery will last for 10-15 minutes - and will maintain full power until it runs out (it doesn't slow down as power gets low). It also has an illuminated battery life indicator on the front of the vacuum to tell you how much you have left. You can also purchase an extra battery on Hoover.com. Hope this helps!

It only comes with one battery but you can purchase extra batteries. I'm not sure how long the battery will last since I just purchased one a few days ago. I do know that this type of battery should be used until it is dead before charging to give you the best use. Keeping the battery in the charger constantly could shorten the life of the battery.

We remove it after it is charged and insert in back in the sweeper. It holds a charge for a long time. I've heard that lithiums shouldn't be left in chargers indefinately. Don't know if that is a fact.

I have left the battery in the charger. The light is constant on while charging. It blinks when it reaches full charge.

Great for Kitty Litter on tile and carpet. Picks up great from both surfaces. Also great with pet hair removal.

I'm not sure how well it would do. It would depend on how deep the grout lines are and how big the litter is. I have picked up dog food from wood floors with it.

Works well for me. You have to pick up the litter on the push stroke. Seems to move the litter back when you pull. I purchased it specifically for picking up litter and cat hair on the carpets and am pleased with the purchase.

Beautifully, but not recommended. It begins to smell and clog the vac. My vac no longer works bc I did this all the time. And I constantly cleaned it out and took good care of it! This product did not last a year, but for everything else I loved it! Oh and not enough battery life!
