Question

Is this a good option for wooden stairs?

I have free-floating wooden stairs to our second level, the type that are open in the back. I'm looking for a lightweight vacuum that won't blow the dust around as I try to capture cat hair and dustballs. Do you think this will this fit the bill? Thanks!

This would work great for your needs as long as you only turn the switch to "hard surfaces" setting. This hard surface setting only allows suction without the movement of the brush. Thus not allowing dirt etc to be brushed into the air.

It does discharge the air out of the lower section of the unit. I have not noticed any detrimental effects on picking up the dog hair (long shelite furballs) that is on my wood floors.

answer 7
That's a hard one.

It's light weight, compared to corded uprights. It handles very well.
Being that your steps have open backs though, you would still need to exercise much caution to prevent running off the back of the steps which is true with any upright. Also, there is no option for hand attachments like a hose or removing the vac unit to use as a handheld like some models. Personally I really like this vac.

Yes, it would work well for wooden stairs, but if you don't need the brushroll (and you don't unless you are doing some rugs or carpets) you can probably get a cheaper cordless stick vac without the brush roll feature.

I have frequently used the vacuum on my carpeted stairs. It works well on the main part of the tread. It is marginal on the interface between vertical hand horizontal part (falls in the cracks), but I compensate by bushing the few misc pieces in the crack into the main part of stair to be easily picked up by unit.

Yes it does swivel. I have never used a Swifter, but the charge last long enough for me to do over a 1,000 sf of tile and wood floors plus 5 throw rugs and 3 area rugs. I even use it on the couch and chairs. Using the roller brush on rugs does use more battery life and I do have to recharge the battery afterwards.

Question

My cat leaves hair on my bed, will this get that up easily?

My cat has her own lazy boy recliner that she sleeps in all day, but as soon as I leave my bedroom, she sneaks onto my bed and sometimes I wake up in the morning to find her sleeping there next to me (I have navy sheets she has white fur, my bed looks so bad once she gets up!).

While I still will need this for my sheet vinyl flooring, my number one need is for my bed and my second need is for my cat's recliner, then the floor is my third concern.. Is this the vacuum for me?

No, this is for floors only. They do make a handheld in the linx but I cannot speak for that one. Based on my experience with the floor model you probably would like the handheld. If you want a combination vac I recommend you buy the ergorapido from Electrolux.

This vacuum is intended for floors! It doesn't come with any attachments for doing sofas or other upholstery. I have a Siamese and I use a lint roller but then I don't think he sheds that much.

Yes the vacuum is awesome for pet hair, however it does not have a handheld. I have used it on the couch though. It will suck up your sheet though, it is very powerful.

Probably not. It picks up pet hair very very well on smooth floors it's okay for a quick pickup on rug or carpet. I just bought the hand-held version of this vacuum and it has an attachment that is great for pet hair (on the recliner and sheets), but not practical for floors.

The two units use the same battery and charger.

I am very pleased with the performance for my applications.

Wal-Mart's canopy sheets aren't 1,000 thread count, but they are really nice quality. Get yourself a set of white sheets. LOL

i think it might work, maybe too much suction for bed sheets, a lint roller should work, or try closing your bedroom door when you sleep.

Its not the greatest at picking up cat hair. There is no dust buster type capability making it awkward to put the entire vacuum on the bed. Plus the hair pickup was mediocre at best.

The Lynx is not ideal for use on furniture. You may want to consider an upright that has a hose and cleaning tools. We'd recommend the Hoover Windtunnel 3 High Performance. The model# is UH72600 and it's sold right her at Walmart!

I don't think it was meant to use on loose fabric. Hardwood floors and carpet, and bathroom tile are no challenge for this product.

I LOVE THIS VACUUM FOR MY FLOORS. I HAVE TWO CATS THAT SLEEP IN MY BED (ON NAVY SHEETS) & ON MY LAZBOY RECLINERS...NO KIDDING...I USE A STICKY ROLLER ON MY SHEETS & THE ATTACHMENTS FROM MY DYSON ON THE FURNITURE...I DON'T THINK YOU COULD USE THIS ON YOUR CHAIR OR YOUR BED...IT WOULD BE EXTREMELY AWKWARD. FYI
THIS VACUUM DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB PICKING UP KITTY LITTER AND KITTY HAIR FROM FLOORS & CARPETS...I USE MINE TWICE A DAY JUST FOR QUICK PICK-UPS...
