For your convenience and optimal performance, AC and DC adapters for recharging in your vehicle or at home are included. It is recommended to fully charge the battery for 40-48 hours before initial use. Afterward, recharge as needed depending on your usage. At minimum, recharge every 2 to 3 months even if it is not used.

Question

Why is this labeled as a generator? This unit is obviously an inverter, not a generator.

Unless this unit can change potential energy (such as gasoline) into electrical energy, then it is NOT a generator. Does this unit have an engine?

This unit is mislabeled as a generator when it is actually just a portable power supply that must be itself charged from an external A/C or D/C power source.

This item is made to be used indoors moreso than outdoors in my opinion. I have used jumpstarters and battery packs such as this one for well over 10 years, mostly inside except for actual jump starting. These have sealed batteries in the case which are safe. They do stop charging after a number of years. The longest lasting one I had lasted about 5 years. The older ones could be taken apart and the battery removed or replaced but I have found that this is difficult on these newer - junkier ones.

Yes it is safe to use inside. This unit comes with an internal sealed lead acid battery that can be charge with AC or DC adapter. You can use it for example during a power outage to charge your appliances. This unit had 2 AC outlet, 1 DC outlet and a USB port for your convenience.

answer 3
The initial charge for this item is 34-48 hours. It has a sealed lead acid battery inside. The charge may or may not be full by the time it gets to the customer.

Factors such as how long it has been since it was produced, how long it was sitting in a warehouse, etc. can affect how much charge it has. If it is not fully charged, it may be half-charged. Just press the gage on the unit so you can tell how charged the unit is - 13 represents fully charged on the scale.

We always recommend charging this item 34-48 hours once you first buy it, then at least once every 3 months - depending on how often it is used.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback.

Though a charged battery, it does "generate" power through 2 AC outlets, and can support up to a 400 watt appliance though "generating" this power.

Correct, it's not a generator. It's power is supplied by a sealed battery. I agree that they should remove the work generator.

It is a jump starter but also a portable generator, it is an air compressor, it has an outlet to power a doc device, a USB to power cell phones or tablets, there is also a radio and a light. It's for use in your car or camping trips.

NO, there is no slow charge, but it will jump start cars, so you might be able to give your trolling batt a bit of a boost. I just went camping and used this unit to jump start a car 3 times, used the led light all night, and used the power inverter to power a laptop playstation 2 with a game screen, and charged my cell phone and still have about 80% of the battery left.
