Question

Can it be different heights as twin beds?

From the picture, it looks like the top bunk mattress frame is screwed higher onto the head and foot than the bottom bunk is. Can this bed be made into twins of different heights so an L-shape can be made with the feet end of one bed going under the other bed? Can one bed be made higher than the other? What is the highest and lowest heights these beds can be?

Yes! When you separate the beds, you have to switch a couple of pieces on each bed. Then it will make it to where the mattress is lower to the floor and the head board is taller. It will explain how to do this in the instructions.

Question

How thick are the posts on this bed? Is it strong enough to hold up 2 adults, plus a nice thick mattress(12) for a long period of time.

We plan to use this bed as 2 singles for adult usage. We have seen a Dorel Bed in Canada Walmart. called "mainstay" with 2.5 " square posts. It seemed to be very sturdy, but the style was somewhat different. Is this product equally sturdy?

Question

What is the height of the bed from the floor to the bottom of the top bunk?

I am checking to make sure they will have enough head room on the bottom bunk so I need to know the height from the floor to where their head would touch the underside of the top bunk.

Question

Has anyone found any additional furniture pieces that match this bunk bed set?

We just purchased this bunk bed in honey pine and it is great! Very nice quality. We would really like to find other furniture pieces to match it (i.e. dresser, bookcase, etc). Has anyone found any furniture in the same finish to match these bunk beds?

This comes in a VERY VERY heavy (110lb!) box. It is also at least 6 feet long. I have a Toyota Sienna minivan and I let the back 3rd row seats down flat then had the men from Wal-Mart put the bed in my car and slide it all the way in between the 2nd row seats where my boys were sitting. Then my husband got it out of the car when he got home and said that it would have to be assembled downstairs (bedrooms are upstairs). I did ALL the assembling by myself and brought the headboards and footboards upstairs one at a time (I am 29 weeks pregnant). And then I assembled the rest of the beds in my boys' rooms. I chose to make them into 2 twin beds or else I would not have been able to do by myself since one bed has to be lifted on top of the other bed to make the bunks. They are GREAT beds so far (just put together 2 days ago)!!!!

It is only 22 inch.so it is better as two separate twin beds. or like us,usually keep the top bed empty, put on wood strips and layers only when needed. I suggest up bed only for kids, because solid pine wood is not heavy enough for adult climbing up. unless you firm the whole bunk bed with wall.
