I would not see it being a problm at all going to schl and back.

I am not sure how steep of a hill you have, but we are in Florida and it is pretty good going uphill. My daughter only weighs 75 lbs and the scooter really moves when she is riding it.

This model handels very good on unpaverd surfaces (I hardly ever ride on pavement). I think it is due to its extra wide tires.

Yes, this model does come with a seat, its the E300S not the E300.
It is only available in blue, although the other models (E100 and E200) do come in Red or Green
