I mean like zoom in while it is recording, not before you start recording...

Yes, it can zoom while recording video, but it only zooms digitally. No optical zoom while in video mode. This cuts down on the quality, and doesn't make for the best video(while digitally zoomed). Get a real video camera if that's what you need.

Yes, it does have an optical view finder. Don't use it much, but it has one. Canon is one of the few that still provide this.

Not sure if you mean brand or format. It takes both SD (up to 2gb) and SDHC (over 2gb). I don't know all the brands compatible but it works with Secure Digital and Kanguru. I'd never heard of Kanguru before I bought it, so I have no doubt it will work with about anything. Certainly any major brands.

Is there a "macro" mode on this camera??
i say this, because my brother has a kodak easyshare that only has a "close up" mode. It is definately not as effective as an actual macro mode, as seen on my other brother's sony cybershot.

Yes, this has an macro mode in auto mode or manual. In auto it automatically switches to the best shot including macro or normal as needed. In manual, you just use the left button(clearly marked) to switch between macro and normal. Auto focus works normally in auto or manual mode. Takes perfect macro shots in either mode.

Your theory is wrong, it does not come with a memory card. A memory card is highly recommended, so you should buy one. The things it lists are the type of memory cards SUPPORTED. So the camera can use all those names, but it does not come with the camera when you buy it.
