Question
Do I need a converter box in addition to this antenna if my T.V. is older?
I am looking to ditch the cable company. How do I get the best reception? Do I need an outdoor antenna? What about a converter box? Do I need that also? Would the indoor antenna work without a converter box if my television is older..about 10 years old?

If you have an old tv, you still need the converter, but if you get a new tv (which now you can get it for less than $100) you don't need cable, just connect this antenna, and you'll you'll enjoy many new channels, many of them not available on cable.

Old TV won't work with this. Yes, for old tube type TV, you will need the converter box for which government gave out $40 rebate cards.

To get the best reception you need to have an outdoor antenna but you can still get reception with only an indoor antenna. You do need a converter box IF your tv doesn't have a digital converter already inside. Most new tv's (2006-present) have the converter. The indoor antenna would not work without a converter box if your television is older (2000 and before).

If your TV is 10 years old it is most likely to be analog and you will need a converter box to convert it to digital. This would be in addition to the digital antenna. I would suggest pick up an inexpensive digital antenna and try that first to see if it works. If you do not have reception you may need to go to an outdoor antenna.
