Hi Jappa! This is Katie B. from SINGER Sewing Company. The 2263 sewing machine does not come with a hard case. Walmart does sell a hard case that will fit this machine. It is listed on this website as well.

Yes there is a handle and is very light weight. However, I still recomend purchasing a sewing maching case (not cabinet) to protect the body during transport.

No. Try lifting the foot and rotating the manual wheel counter-clock wise. If it is still jamed, hold down the reverse lever and rotate clockwise. If still jamed, open bobin area and remove excess thread.

You might need to rethread the machine. Please make sure the presser foot is in the UP position when threading the top thread, the presser foot must be in the DOWN position when you start sewing and always turn the handwheel TOWARDS you when raising or lowering the needle.

The number 4 is the largest stitch and you turn the dial clockwise to get there. You turn the dial counter clockwise to get the stitch smaller.

Question

I can not adjust the bobbie tension. I have tried to adjust it by turning the screw on the bobbin and this does nothing. What should I do?

If you haven't done this, try taking the thread coming out of the bobbin case, hold it and give it a little shake. Your bobbin should drop, but very little. If it does that then try a practice sewing run and see if the tension is okay. If the bobbin drops a lot, almost like a yo-yo, then it's way too loose.

Usually tightening the screen shown on page 15 of the 2263 manual to the right will tighten bobbin case tension. It's unusual to need to tighten bobbin case tension unless you're using some type of specialty thread or technique.

Over tightening the bobbin tension will cause puckering. It's much better to lower the needle tension.

We hope this helps!

I have used both plastic and metal bobbins on my Singer Simple machine. You would not need to transfer anything they all work the same plastic or metal.

Question

Second spool pin

I purchased the Singer 2263 after owing a Kenmore for 43 years. The thread shown in the instruction manual isn't the kind I have used (horizontal), so it looks like I will have to purchase the second spool pin from the list of accessories not included with the machine. Where can I find it?

If you mean that you are using the long thin spools made by 'Gutterman', then they fit fine without buying another spool pin. If you mean that you are using a 'Coats and Clark' type spool then it also fits fine. The only difference may be the side of the spool cap that you use after you insert the spool of thread.

You can shir on this machine by loosely winding elastic thread on the bobbin. Works fine. (I still wouldn't recommend this machine overall, though)
