Questions & Answers for Ozark Trail Ozark Trail 3-Room XL Vacation Lodge Camping Tent

Question

Where can I get parts list of replacement parts?

One of the end poles, (part B on Bag) broke over the weekend. We left the tent, experienced a little wind, came back later in day and one pole end was completely snapped-unrepairable where we were at. Used some duct tape to get through weekend, but need Part Number to get replacement from 800 number listed on tent bag! Does anybody have this information for the WMT922 model?

I found our parts list: part B the long rod that goes through the end loop, is part number 04-0053. The other parts are as follows: A. Top fiberglass pole 05-0033. C. Plastic corner piece CM15-47. D. Steel pole 08-0012. E. Steel canopy pole 08-0013. The complete Frame is WMT922-1FR. Replacement Fly is WMT922-1FLY and the Divider Cutain is WMT922-DC. I hope this helps you.

No, there are no provisions for 'Zipping' two tents together to make one giant tent. If you want to create a monster tent for the kids, I suggest arranging two tents face to face with the awnings overlapping to make a 'Boys' side and 'Girls' side with walking room to either side of the entrances.

No you couldn't do that. But, seriously, do you really want 15 kids in one tent? I camped with Boy Scouts for many years. One thing was certain -- the more boys you had in one tent, the more likely you were to have personality conflicts. We found it much better to split them up in smaller groups.

No, there's no way to connect 2 or more tents. however, there's only 1 doorway to this tent. You could butt them together and leave a little walkway between them.

They cannot zip together but two of them can fit more 15 kids depending on age. Each tent can fit 3 queen size mattresses so if that helps maybe you can figure from there. You can position them close from door to door if that helps.

What advise to buy products to prevent leaks in the tent??

I am very interested in buying the Ozark Trail 3-Room XL Tent Camping Vacation Lodge, but seeing the comments of people who have already bought, I've seen a lot of criticism concerning the leaks in the house and lot of water dripping.

Well start off with planning your outings around weather that don't promise rain. Use a little judiciousness here. The internet can tell you what it's going to do in the next 15 days with an assumed 70% accuracy rate. Nothing is more of a bummer than doing outdoor activities than rain. Remember this is a tent and not a proper house. It's made of canvas and part of the outdoor experience is to get out of the house but within a tent, which is a comfort zone. Your expectations may be too high for this product but leaks can and do occur in canvas structures in general if the rain and winds are heavy enough. Expect rain and use a silicone sealant all over the canvas and seams to minimize the possibility of leaks. If you still cannot tolerate it then a kitchen in a house is better your suiting.

we didn't have a problem...recommend using sealer on inside of floor seams and unerside of rainfly seams. most people don't realize you should not have anything against a wall...this will allow water to seep through and leak...keep all walls clear from bags and beds!

You should always buy seam sealer with any tent you purchase. You apply it to the inside seams, not where the netting is though. Most tents leak, it is a fabric, unless its an expedition tent specifically made for extream conditions.

We didnt have any problems getting wet on the inside even tho it rained 1 nite and there was lots of dew in the mornings. The only way it got wet on the inside is when we touched it from the inside. We didnt do any waterproofing of the seams. We did look at a few products in Walmart to do so, but you gotta leave it sit undisturbed for a day after applying it. and we didnt have time to do so.

I purchased a bottle of seam sealer and treated all of the seams. I did not treat the rest of the tent. We found ourselves in the middle of a severe thunderstorm with wind gusts over 40 mph. We had no problem at all with leaking (until my daughter unzipped a window and rain came in through the screen). I think the most important factor in staying dry in this tent is ensuring that the rain cover is on properly and is secured tightly (and the windows are zipped shut).
I highly recommend this tent!

I haven't personally used it in the fall and summer but so far it does great in the spring (low 40's weather with rain-fly on) with a lot of blankets and/or propane heater. This tent is more geared for warmer climates above 40F.

I would not consider this a 3season tent. But last weekend we encountered 47-57 degree nights. With the windows closed and with the right blanket, bags etc we were fine and warm. But on the warmer nights and days this tent has great ventilation! The whole "top" is mesh but the rain tarp is close when on so that does help with the colder nights.

No. Since they are removeable dividers (which is cool!!), they are mounted to the tent walls in a variety of locations. The ceiling on this tent is very tall & I'm six foot tall and the dividers go about another eight inches higher, so you do have privacy (?). I like that I can adjust the amount and size of rooms to fit different situations.

We did feel like the little "patio" awning flapped about in the wind the first night we slept in this tent, so the next night we utilized the extra "divider" as an additional curtain on the inside of the zippered door and this made us feel less open to seeing in.

Not if you zip up the privacy flaps, not sure of the techinical name. The rain fly covers the top but if you don't put it on, and someone is very tall or is camping higher than you, then you could possibly see through the top netting.

Only if the windows are open and the privacy flap is not zipped. But once you put the room dividers in place they can only see the middle room. Shadows are visible but that would for all tents I am sure.

Bring a few extra blankets and a propane warmer if you're truly concerned. I camped with my little boy in 40 degree weather and while the tent protected from the blowing wind, it was cold enough to cuddle good under a few blankets to keep comfortable. Your mileage may may vary. This is not a "top of Everest" tent with heat management designed well so keep that in mind. This is a great spring/summer tent. I wouldn't want to trek out into the middle of Winter with this unless I had a propane Mr. Heater to accommodate.

I would say yes. We went camping with it 2 weekends ago in Florida. I know you are saying "Florida"? How can that be cold? Well, both night we camped the temperature dipped into the mid 30's. We had two 5yr old girls with us and with the use of a couple layers, sleeping bags and a couple blankets inside the sleeping bags the kids had no issue sleeping.

A tent like this is basically a shelter. You can't really count on it to provide warmth. You need to know the temperature ranges for your locations and be sure you have the right sleeping gear. Coleman even makes a propane heater you can put inside a tent overnight if necessary. Also if you get sweaty during the day, shower before bed. And always wear clean clothes to sleep in. Sweaty bodies and clothes get clammy and make you cold.

Even in the coldest weather as long as you have the correct sleeping bags the kids will be fine. I do recommend though that you put a blanket or another sleeping bag under them for insulation from the cold ground, this applies even if using a blow up mattress as that will not help trap heat and keep them warm. Have fun at Yellowstone! Were planning our trip right now and are looking forward to visiting California Caverns! (the main reason for our trip)
