most children do better with handle bar steering at first but it doesn't take them long to get use to the steering wheel. Just dont get impatient with them learning how to turn the wheel My lil girl started on the Polaris 700 before she was 2. By 2.5 was riding everything

i bought this for my daughter who just turned two, she loves it, at 1st she wouldn't drive it, but after a week of riding in the passenger seat she started to drive it, and it didn't take her that long to become a decent driver :)

I would say yes! My son is 8 years old and still rides it. Although it is a tight fit for him now. He has used it since he was 3. The seat moves back and fortha bit to help for shorter or longer legs. My daughter is 3 ft 7 in and she can easily ride it. Your child will get lots and lots of use from this toy!

Question
Where can I buy a generic replacement battery?
My Gator needs a new battery, but I don't want to pay the $70 for the Peg Perego. Does anyone know where I can buy a new generic battery with the proper connection? I tried my neighbor's Little Tikes battery and the connection is wrong. Thanks!

Question
Can this Gator be operated in the snow/winter?
I have a 3 yr old and 4 1/2 year old - they love John Deere but they love being outdoors even more and we spend as much time outside as we can given New England weather. We are considering giving this as a Christmas gift but don't want them to have to wait until spring to use it ;-)

My opinion is it will not go in the snow at all. It spins out on wet grass and even gravel right now. Maybe with traction bands it would go better.
