The worker bee begins as fertilized egg which hatches into a larva. Larva grows into pupa which matures into adult worker honeybee in 21 days. They gather the nectar and pollen, warm, and protect eggs, larva and pupae and feed the larvae.
They supply the water for the hive, secrete beeswax and build the honeycomb. W worker bee lives 47 days.
Hive life revolves around the queen. The entire colony would die without the eggs the queen lays. She begins as ordinary female worker larva but is fed an extremely rich mixture of food called Royal Jelly. Provided by the young worker bees, the queen becomes larger than the other bees. She is constantly surrounded and protected by worker bees.
A new queen can be produced at any time if worker bees choose to feed a young larva the Royal Jelly. If the second queen is hatched a portion of the bees usually swarm and relocate.
I can not see how gelatin would be anything other than to form the capsule to put the Royal Jelly into. The bees collect nectar from plants and can not see how animal products would be involved.

Bee propolis is the resinous substance collected by bees from the leaf buds and bark of trees, especially poplar and conifer trees. Bees use the propolis along with beeswax to construct their hives. Royal jelly is a thick, milky substance produced by worker bees to feed the queen bee. The worker bees mix honey and bee pollen with enzymes in the glands of their throats to produce royal jelly.
