answer 9

The price is for a pair. Also, just know that its 30lbs in plates and the two bars weigh 5 pounds each.

You get 4 five pound plates (20lbs) and 4 2.5 pound plates (10lbs) and 2 bars that are 5 pounds each (10lbs)

Chances are that you will have to add on weights at some stage depending on your routine and fitness level.

Summary:

3.5 pounds for a single bar and the two screw on nuts that go with it.

Details:

I weighed each item in the set separately on a very precise scale and found that no two parts were exactly the same weight. I found the lightest the bar and screw nuts would weigh is 3 lb, 8 oz (1588 grams), and the heavest configuration was 3 lb, 9oz (1628 grams).

The bar with end caps weighs about 4 pounds. Realistically the weight set should be listed at a 39 pound barbell set, but 39 doesn't sound as good as 40.

I've included a link to a company which sells the plates you are looking for. The link should take you to the page which features various available plate sizes and weights. Just make sure you work with one inch center cut plates. In case you're interested in knowing, the plates are made by the same company who manufactured the dumbbells. Hopefully this is useful information.

The set comes with 5lb & 2.5lb weights, so the max for a set is 4x5 + 4x2.5 = 30 + the weight of the bar, so about 35lbs. That is the entire set on a single bar.

The bar will hold 4 weights on each side, but none of the included weights are 10lb.

probably not--the 10lb plates would have to be less than 3/4" thick. it will hold the five and three 2.5 ones that come with it, but barely.

I wondered about that myself I have this exact set and have added 40 pounds of extra iron weights (2) 10 pound weights per bar 1 on each side = 40 pounds counting the bar.

I have used (4) 10 pound weights 2 on each side and (2) 5 pound weights 1 on each side on a single bar without a problem = 55 pounds counting the bar.

May be difficult. I dont have 10lb weights to test but I tried with the 5s. With four in a side, there is just enough space to close it with a spinner. It fits but just. I personally would feel a little uncomfortable without extra thread.

Are the 10lbs thicker than the 5s? if so they wont fit.
