This is one area where I believe the Little Giant and Werner are a safer alternative, when used as a roof ladder. All the 17' multi-ladders can be extended to nominally 17', but the latching mechanism is far sturdier in the Little Giant and Werner IMO and according to many reviews.

Now I have used the very similar Vulcan 17' not quite fully extended to get up to my garage roof and it is every bit as sturdy as a good extension ladder for the 13-15' rise. I do question the Cosco latch's sturdiness in this configuration, and this has been reported on other reviews as a problem.

This ladder is 14'10". It will depend how tall you are as to what size roof you can get onto. I am not aware of any twist,

The ladder can not be combined or connected together.
Go for a "standard" extension ladder - 32 to 40 foot.

How do you plan on extending it?

I have 2 of these at home, I have never thought about it before, but I don't think they are designed for that purpose... maybe, you could modify them somehow (like welding them) but I think it could end up being more effective and safe just buying a longer ladder...

If you drive a sedan, it might lay on edge on the rear floor or if your vehicle is narrower than almost 5' you may be able to place it in the reclined passenger seat if you allow for 20" or 22" of width at ine end or the other. Talk to Customer Service.

In step ladder mode, fully extended, the top step is just about 5'9" off the ground. BUT you really shouldn't use that top step of course! All these 17' multi-ladders are about the same height and configuration. Check out some of the big box store descriptions for more details.

Probably not. I'm 5'10 and I stood on the 3rd rung when hanging a light fixture on a 10' ceiling, and I felt very safe, but holding a paint brush and having to reach 2' higher, I would have to be at least one rung higher with no place to set down the paint container.
