on RCA RTD317W, DVD Home Theater System with 1080p HDMI Upconvert DVD Player
Optical would prob only be available on back of cable or sat box. To get image to TV use HDMI cable (best) or video cables.

there is no optical plug on that TV but no biggie just use an HDMI cable instead. You wont notice the difference as this particular receiver is not the best out there. If this were a $500 receiver I might have a different story but as is just go with HDMI...

If there is no optical output on your TV, then you need to go with the RCA cords.

It is best to refer to the TV manual to see if there is an Optical port for OUTPUT. If there is no Optical port then you will not be able to make the connection. However you can always connect the optical port from another device, such as, Dish Network, Digital Cable Box, DVD or Blu-ray into the RTD317 unit.

You may have the answer for this by now, but your television is listed on the Walmart site as having a digital audio out hook-up. Some of these tvs have these hookups underneath the back of the TV. They can be a little difficult to get to.
