I have this mattress and I bought 3 different types of sheets which work and fit. From favorite to least favorite: Carter's Jersey Knit portacrib sheets- awesome fit and feel, they are super soft, Graco quilted PackNPlay sheet- snug fit, makes mattress softer and you can put the Carter's sheet over this one for added softness, and last Koala Baby portacrib sheet- standard sheet, not too thrilled with it, but it does fit. Hope this helps you out!

No, you do not need a mattress pad. It is made just like most crib mattresses, only smaller. I did buy a mattress pad from American baby company, though. I liked the extra comfort it provided.

If you are concerned about waterproofing I would say No. It wipes up clean really well. However if you don't have a mattress pad and just a sheet, then there will be a plastic-like sound when your child moves. I like to have a mattress pad on the mattress for that reason and I find my son sleeps better with it on. I think it must be more comfortable that way and more insulating as well. hope this helps!

This mattress is vinyl coated, and wipes well with a wet cloth, so I wouldn't think a mattress pad is needed. I have had no problems wiping mine- we don't use a pad.

This portable crib mattress is covered in wet-proof material and is very cushioned and comfortable. It cleans easily with soap and water. If you cannot find a pad that fits simply purchase a portable crib sheet to fit the size 38"L x 24"W.

Question

How easy to fly with this mattress?

We are going to be gone for 1 month and going to two destinations by plane. Each will have a pnp there but our 18 mth old daughter sleeps much better in her crib. Any chance this can be used to travel with or is it just too big?

Unless you are using it i a portable playyard, you may not want the hassle and by the time you pay for it to be taken on the plane as extra lugage, you might as well purchase when you arrive at your destination.

No I would not fly with this. It is too difficult to fly with you since it does not fold up for portability. I would just pack a packnplay with you and check it in. I would add blankets at your hotel in the packnplay for added comfort

Since there is no specific playard design mentioned here it is recommended to use the pad that comes with the playard as we cannot confirm it will fit properly. Sorry but the portable crib pad is thick and does not fold easily to fit into luggage.

This is a mattress. American baby company makes a porta crib waterproof mattress pad and jersey knit porta crib sheets that fit perfectly. However you do not need a mattress pad since it is designed to be waterproof, but I like the extra comfort the pad gives in addition to the sheet. This mattress is a good buy.

This is a mattress, not a pad. I don't know if a pad is available. I am using a larger one for a standard crib. I would like to know if the pad and sheets are available to fit this mattress. This is a much better alternative than the one included with the portable crib.

answer 5
If your portable crib instructions say they can accommodate a 38"L x 24" W pad then it should fit. For safety you do not want any gaps in the sides or a pad that is too large that will bunch up. Please check the inside portable crib dimensions first.
