answer 1
Yes, IMHO, it is fairly soft, as far as imitation grass rugs go. I walk barefoot on it regularly.

answer 2
It is comfortable to walk barefoot or sit on if it's not outside where it will get wet and dirty. Outside it dries quickly and stays nice.

Mine is new - about 3 to 4 weeks old - and it's still pretty stiff. I can walk on it barefoot but I don't think it would be comfortable to sit on for a long period of time. Maybe after it's worn in!

I am not at home to go look at or measure it, but I would definitely guess it is closer to 3/4. It is a nice pile.

I agree. The rugs we bought are barely 1/8 inch, if that.

I'd say more like 1/4" thick when laid down.

answer 4
I just used a yardstick and a quick look but there's no way mine is 3/4". It -might- have been closer to that before we used it, but even the binding is only a little over 1/4" and that's certainly the bulkiest part on our rug.

Question

Can this rug sit out in the rain?

I bought this rug for my back patio area which does not have an over-hang or shelter at all. Can this rug be out in the rain and survive? I had a different "outdoor" rug which did fine for 1 1/2 years and then it molded.

I bought the 6x9 rug so throwing it over the fence after each rain will be a big job for me. :( I would rather let it dry out on its own. In my experience it takes about two days for an outdoor rug to dry out after a big rain.

If anyone has any input as to how this rug does exposed to the elements I would appreciate it. I live in the South so we do get the standard downpours/scorcher days/snow/ice...we get it all where I live. Thanks. :)

answer 2
I leave mine out all summer, through rain and all natural elements. I've had mine less than 2 months, so I can't vouch for longevity, but I would think that ANY rug left outside for two years would need to be replaced about that time. The backing on this rug is good and should be strong enough to withstand the elements, while allowing some draining/air flow. There are no magic rugs.

answer 2
My guess would be yes. It seems to be fairly soft, as far as imitation grass rugs go. However, this is just a guess, and I don't know how flimsy your pool is. Why don't you simply place a buffer layer between the two to be safe? Newspaper, cardboard, plastic sheeting, etc?

I put a kiddie pool on this on my deck and it was not slippery. It did stay wet for long time before drying out. Was big enough for pool and chairs too. Didn't have to worry about children burning their feet.

I guess it would depend on what type of surface you are laying it on. The bottom has a rubberized coating. I am not using it on a slippery foundation though.

I had no problem cutting it, BUT it starts to fray and unravel. I used duct tape (extra strong stuff) under carpet and some cheap glue. Be careful as you can make a mess.

I would guess you could if you had a good pair of scissors, but I do not see why one would want to as it would be difficult and time consuming and requires some effort. The standard rug cutter knife, or a box cutter works great. Takes seconds and is accurate.

I have never even tried to cut it. It is only a 5 by 7 rug. I don't see why you couldn't.
