Just different resistance as you would meet while running a natural path. The higher workout level the more resistance.

Read page 18 #2. It tells you to press the Smart Buttons repeatedly until the number of the desired workout appears on the display.

answer 3
The 6 worksouts change your resistance in different patterns. They are just there to help you in the workout process without having to change the resistance yourself. To use them just push the smart workout button when you turn on your machine and choose which one you want.

You cannot change the programs on this machine, they are already preset. To choose a program, press the Smart Workout button until you find the workout you would like to do. Then press the start button to begin your workout. You can get an idea of what a workout will be like but the bars listed next to the workout. The higher the bar, the more resistance the ellitpical will have durring that section of the workout. Also, see page 18 in the owner's manual to learn more about the target pacer.

AC Adapter

I would like to purchase the AC Adapter for this elliptical from Walmart.com. I am looking for the same AC adapter to use for this elliptical. I checked Walmart.com and there are a ton of them. Can somebody PLEASE give me the exact name and exact price that is compatible with this elliptical? I already purchased the wrong one and had to return it, so I want to get it right this time. Thank you!!!

I just bought the Powerline universal AC adapter at Walmart, and it works perfectly, was 15$. Just set it to 6 volts. Pretty much any power adapter would probably work though, it just has to be at least 600mA

After some research, I bought the Powerline 0900-74 AC Adapter from Buy.com. (Doesn't seem to be available via Walmart anymore.) It's a 600mA - 3V DC to 12V DC adapter. It cost $13.99, plus tax - free shipping. Works great! If your electrically challenge, as I am, here are a few more tips. Follow the instructions for the 'TIP -Positive' instructions that come with the adapter to hook it up, and make sure you set the switch setting on the adapter to 6V. As I said, it works great, and at a good price. Good luck!

I bought my elliptical about 2 weeks ago and found out about the warranty about a week after I purchased it. I took my receipt to the Customer Service desk at Walmart. At the Customer Service counter they have little booklets that are the actual warranty. What I did was return the elliptical, then rebuy it and the warranty together. It was $19.88 for a 2 year warranty. Definitely get the 2 year warranty because the manufacturer's warranty is only 3 months on this. Good luck!

If you bought an actual adapter then you don't need to be concerned about anything. Just plug it in and your all set! If you bought a universal I'd return it as they can damage the unit over time if not set to the exact power requirements. I know the company wants about $90 for the adapter so I've been telling everyone where I got mine for $40 at homegympower.biz. Hope this is a helpful answer for you and others.

Yes, it matters. My adapter is positive on the inside of the plug and negative on the outside. You should be able to tell this by looking at the plug on the adapter. The center needs to be positive. It probably wont work otherwise.

Try to grease up the joints of the machine. Mine started squeaking about 3 days after I got it but it's not so loud that it interrupts my reading or television. My mom has a much more expensive machine and it still squeaks. I just think it's something that happens with these machines.

Watch the display of the track on the bottom of the display screen. One complete rotation around the track equals 1/4 of a mile. Twice around would be 1/2 mile and so on....

It measures the workout in revolutions.

2560 revolutions equals mile.

answer 3
There is not a readout of the distance, other than number of revolutions. However there is a digital "track" which, according to the manual, represents 1/4 of a mile. From the manual: "Indicators will appear in succession around the track until the entire track appears. The track will then disappear and the indicators will again begin to appear in succession." Not the best, but I suppose you could see how many revolutions are required for one trip around the track and estimate distance that way.

Mine started out very quiet but within a couple weeks of use there was an annoying popping noise on the left handle. That quickly spread to the right handle and within a couple of months it developed a popping noise on both of the rear wheel attachments. It is very annoying to me but I reasoned that you get what you pay for. I'm still happy with the purchase overall (lost about 30 pounds!)

It's like everything else when you put it in motion friction between pieces cause it to squeak. This is not a very heavy duty machine like you find in gyms.
