How do you clean this thing?
I see a lot of people in the reviews saying it is easy to clean up after using this product?! How? First off, I have to wait a couple hours for the gallon of oil I used to cool. And then I have to try to pour the oil back in the vegetable oil container which is not easy given how heavy that black square container is. Then there are like 5 different things to wash. I have to wash the black container that holds the oil, the basket, the lid, the electric metal fork on the bottom which powers the fryer, and the outside of the fryer.
How are you simplifying the cleaning up process. Please help me!

on GE 12-Cup Deep Fryer
I do not empty my fryer after each use but store it with the oil inside. I only clean it when I change the oil. It should be said, it is easy to clean in comparison to other fryers that do not come apart so easily.
I have been reusing the oil this way for over four years and have survived so far.

All I did was made sure I took out the heating element, dumped the used oil, and then washed all the other parts just like you do your dishes. I wiped the heating element off with some paper towels. Just use soap, water and a sponge and wash it like you do your dishes. It's easy to clean because its not all one piece that you have to try and not get wet.
