Enjoy TV programs on the go. The built-in ATSC tuner can receive over-the-air digital broadcasts. You can connect your digital media player to watch video clips or digital still via the USB port or insert a miniSD memory card to view digital photos. The A/V input connects to external devices, such as a DVD player or cable/satellite box. Includes high-capacity lithium-ion rechargeable battery for long playing time. Note: You must have a source of HD programming in order to take full advantage of an HDTV. Otherwise, the picture quality of an HDTV without an HD source may not be much better than that of a standard-definition TV. Please contact your local cable or satellite TV provider for details on how to upgrade to HD programming.

Yes it does. The speakers are so-so, but jacked in with a $10 pair of Maxwell headphones and the sound is great!

I know you can purchase it at other sites with those included, but the one at Wal-Mart does not come with the additions. However the A\V cables are readily available at Radio Shack, and the ear phones you usually get in a package deal are sub-par at best.

Does HDTV work while unit is moving (in a car)?
Seems most "portable" HDTVs must be stationary to get a good signal. Is that true for this device? Thanks.

LOL, that was a question I had too. Thus, one of the first things I did was take it for a ride. I placed the antenna on my dash and took about a 15 minute drive. I am about 15 minutes from the transponder here in Austin, and the reception I received only had a couple of glitches, but that was when I went behind a stone hill. Hope this helps.

Yes, but from what I have found, it really only reads avi files. However, it does read DivX compression. Hope this helps.

Question
What media file types are supported by the USB and miniSD card? (especially video)
I intend to use this as a portable media player and not just for over the air programming. The Walmart website and the Manufacturer's website both do not mention anything about the supported files types for the USB and miniSD card on this device. What kinds of video formats are supported? MPEG-2? H.264? MPEG-4? .mp4? .mov? .wmv? any others?

OK, from what I have thrown at it over a USB drive. It seems like avi is the only thing it recognizes. However, DivX compression works well. I added a wmv file and it doesn't see it at all. I also uploaded a mp4 file, and it converts the extension to avi and doesn't play. Hope this helps.

Audio Video Interlaced (AVI) files are the only type of file that can be played on this unit. They must be in a specific AVI format to play.

The unit does not come with car charger but you can purchase one separately. The battery will last from 1.5 to 2 hours depending on settings and usage.

I live in Austin, TX. I am receiving all of our local channels better with this little TV, and the included external antenna, than the Dell HDTV I own with a $100 HDTV antenna.
However, if you hook it up to cable, you should get all the Clear-QAM channels and perhaps more. You can hook it up to a digital box, but like the old VCR, you need to select input and use the digital box remote to change channels. A/V cables can be had at your local Radio Shack.

No this unit does not require any additional antennas or boxes. You may connect stronger antennas to the unit if the signal in your area is not as strong.

Only to the point of getting Clear-QAM channels, which are normally your local channels.
You can hook it up to you cable box via A/V cables you can get at your local Radio Shack.

The unit will pick up cables channels 2-135. You must change the tuner mode from AIR to CABLE in the menu for it to search for cable channels.

No, the USB port is only for playback. Unlike the iPod, the port doesn't have a transition of the cable to charge.

Unfortunately, the only way to charge the battery is by connecting it to a power outlet and using the AC adapter.
