I'm not sure what the previous answer was based on. 7" LCD TVs (even the old analog ones) typically get 1 1/2 to 2 hours from the internal battery and 6 or more hours to recharge. This Viore 7" advertises 1 1/2 hours, which is about what I am getting--and about that same recharge time. Think about that when you consider purchasing this as an "emergency TV". It will also have barely enough time to play a typical movie from an SD card.

Generaly the battery life on units like this last 3 to 4 hours on a charge, but its always a safe bet to expect less.

No, it already has the built in ATSC tuner (digital) so all you have to do is scan for channels when you get it and you will be set.

You need a UHF/VHF broadcasts indoor antenna to get local digital and analog.

answer 2
It depends on your area and how far you are from the towers which handle your channel signals. Many customers have had no problem pulling in channels in some rural areas.

Whats the range of the antenna?

Maybe 20 miles, but reception is not always so good. I tried a different external antenna and it was no better. If you're in an urban area, you should have no problem, if you're within 10 miles the the transmitter or if the transmitter is on high ground.

Digital reception is no better than analog was, they use the same frequencies.

This is nearly impossible to answer. It depends on your location and surrounding geography. Digital over-the-air signals are much weaker than analog signals were in most areas. I will tell you that in my area the corded antenna with this TV gets better results than the built-in telescoping antenna on the three other brands of digital portable TVs I have tried. Still, I am less than 20 miles from a number of network broadcasters in unobstructed flatland, and still get only receive about half of the major stations. Full reception generally requires a really good indoor or outdoor antenna. Be careful about imagining these as "emergency/hurricane" TVs. Imagine the odds of a receivable digital signal after a storm--when you can't hardly get one in good weather.
