Questions & Answers for LeapFrog LeapFrog Tag Reading System

Question
Which is better for 3 1/2 year old?
I have a daughter who will be 3 1/2 at christmas (she will be 4 in the summer). I am looking at the Tag reading systems and not sure if I should get the Tag or Tag Junior? I don't want her to outgrow the Tag Junior right away and the books appear geared for the younger kids, but I don't want the Tag to be too much for her. Does anyone suggest one over the other? Thanks

I have been trying to decide the same thing for my son who turned three in august. I read up about this on the leapfrog website and think I am going to go with the Tag (not tag junior). The Tag reader will read Tag junior books but the tag junior reader will not read tag books. It seems that getting the tag reader would be more versitile. I can get him junior books now and then upgrade to regular tag books later and only have to buy one reader. Hope that helps :)

My six year old son has the TAG but my daughter who just turned three uses it more than he does. I thought about getting her the jounir because she loves his so much but I decided to just let them share I was worried that she wouldn't like the jounior as much. I think the regular tag would be good for her. Hope this helps!

Question
what are the differences between this product and the vtech reading system?
I need to choose between 2 different reading systems carefully. My son is 5 and has learning difficulites. In school the teacher is trying to teach him to read but he has no desire. I would like either product to be easy, fun and interesting for him. Thanks

I did a complete review on between the two systems on the bugsby reading system reviews. I don't see any difference in what they do. The difference is how they 'read' the books. The tag you need to download the books to the reader and it holds either 5 or 10 depending on which size you get. Reviews state that this can be a little confusing and time confusing at first. The Vtech reading system has little cartridges that you plug into the back of the bookworm for each book. I choose the Bugsby because 1) it is much cheaper and I didn't see any difference and 2) I thought the pen felt it may hold up a little better. You can read my review at the bugsby reviews.
