Questions & Answers for Remington Remington 10" Electric Pole Saw

Question

warranty

I do not see warranty information by Remington for this saw. All I see is a section about buying the extended warranty. This is important since the Greenworks convertible pole saw can be bought for $30 more with a 4 year warranty.

answer 1
Yes there is a chain tensioner that is adjusted by loosening two nuts that hole the bar in position and then turning a tensioner screw with a flat blade screwdriver. After adjusting the tension you tighten the two nuts to hold the bar in position.

You can adjust the tension by the adjustment screw (see instructions) next to the chain, with a blade screwdriver . By loosening the tension and removing the retainer clip on a chain link, you can remove and replace the old chain.

answer 2
The saw has only one position while mounted on the pole -- blade in line with the pole. To make horizontal cuts you must be in position to hold the saw horizontally either disconnected from the pole as a regular chain saw or hold the pole horizontally.

answer 3
Sure, just turn the pole so the saw is horizontal instead of vertical.

Question

Is it RM1015P or RM1015PS?

From my research, RM1015P is the old model and RM1015PS is the new model with some minor improvements.

The one on Walmart.com states RM1015P (old model). But that may or may not be accurate. If someone purchased this lately, could you tell me if you received RM1015P or RM1015PS? Thank you!

No. There is no battery at all. This is an ELECTRIC pole saw, using an electrical cord. It must be plugged into an electrical outlet.

I cut a 10 inch tree just a few days ago

answer 2
Well it says not recommended for larger than 6"
But that being said I have cut branches 12" in diameter and trees
14" in diameter with no problems.
The motor says 8 amp which is the same as a smaller table saw,
it has a strong little motor for the price.
I have had mine for 4+ years and love it, its lite and works with Or
without the pole making it versatile for cutting branches that are on the ground.

If you were to use the saw without the pole you could cut through an eight inch diameter log with ease! But with the saw on the pole I would not recommend going through anything thicker than four to five inches in diameter tops! Reason being is at that thickness the branch is usually over ten feet long and heavy, at this length you could easily get knocked down! Be careful not to cut through your extension cord and don't get knocked off of your ladder, if you use one! Always wear a hardhat when using this product! For ten to twenty bucks more you could get a battery operated one which would probably please you better! Gas I am sure is the best kind but it will cost you five times the price!
