NO! There is no OEM manufacturer
that i know of that ships their computer
with an Operating System
Installation Disk.

The 'installation???' DVDs are called
recovery and or backup disks and
they restore your computer's hard
drive to the state it was when you
purchased it. If you want to install
JUST Windows 7 on your OEM machine
you must purchase Windows 7 separately.

No physical backup discs provided in the box. There is a seperate hard-drive partition that contains a backup of Windows 7, as well as a backup feature within the Control Panel that uses either your DVD burner or external harddrive to create an image. Very easy process to complete. Also, the system will let you create a Restoration DVD that will let you boot the PC from it incase you have any problems in the future.

This system does not come with backup discs. You will have to create the discs when you hook up the computer and get it running. Most computer companies now do not supply discs with new computers. You will need a DVD burner and three DVD's to make backups though.

As far as the installing the XP pro not sure unless you have a full xp install disc or the OEM disc ( NOT the upgrade) as far as creating a restore disc is very easy. You will need 3 blank DVDs then follow this.
1) Click (start)>all programs>eMachines recovery managment to open recovery program.
2) Click create factory default disc and just follow the onscreen instructions.

I do suggest removing all the trial stuff 1st but thats me.

Some older programs can be made to run in Windows 7 64 bit using "Program Compatibility" but most of my software would not install or run even using that method. My eMachines ET1331G-03W came with eMachines recovery management that allowed me to create factory default disc's. These disc's allow you to recover your system back to the way it originally came. Also you can use windows backup and restore to create a system image. You should be able to find both of these listed in your programs list by clicking the start button.

No need too. This system is Home Premium. Along with Windows 7 you are able to run old programs. Just install like normal and they should install to the Program Files (x86) folder. If for some reason they will not run, then right click the Desktop Icon - Choose "Properties" and the tabs at the top choose "Compatibility" and under Compatibility mode Click the check box. Then you are all set and it should run

This computer will work fine with dial-up, but does not come with a dial-up modem. A modem can be installed with a fairly inexpensive expansion card that installs in one of the empty expansion slots.

why would you have a dial up service on these days?
it does not have a modem card integrated so you won't be able to do that. But it does have an ethernet connection,so you can use it for DSL.

Hello! We bought my daughter Sims 3 for xmas and it wouldn't even run/install on our dinosaur computer. I went to Walmart the next day after researching computer prices online, and bought this eMachine for $398. Sims 3 worked acceptably out of the box, there was a small "delay" on the graphic movement but nothing too extreme (could have lived with it). But my son is in college and knows quite a bit about computers, and had told me upfront that although all the other online reviews for this computer were great, that the only real drawback was the outdated video card.

For $35 (after $10 mail-in rebate) we picked up a PNY GeForce 210 graphics card at our local Micro Center, along w/an upgraded 400w power supply for another $37. Now Sims 3 runs at the speed of light!! Absolutely no delay/shakiness in the graphics and I should never have to upgrade anything else on this awesome machine. :)

The new graphics card & power supply were easy to change out, my son had never done a power supply before but step-by-step instructions (w/photos) were easily found by googling on the internet... took him about 20-25 minutes from start to finish and was the best $65 I've ever spent. :)
