yes they separate. and u have about 2 1/2 to 3 feet of slack

speaker wire is about 5ft long and the connectors do separate from the main machine.

It has stereo RCA inputs that you can connect to any mp3 player from the headphone jack with a patch cable that has a stereo mini phone plug to two rca's.

It has audio inputs so you can use the system as an amplifier for other devices, like an MP3 player - you would generally connect it to the headphone output of the player.
does the system have a counter? Is there a display on the system that shows the numer of seconds or minutes you are into a song?

It has audio inputs so you can use the system as an amplifier for other devices, like an MP3 player, however it wont control the device - it's only designed to charge, play and control a compatible iPod.

I have not found an usb port on mine, but you can hook up speakers to your laptop. the wires are not included to the laptop

If you have a line output, either a 3.5mm mini-plug jack or twin L/R RCA jacks you should be able to hook up your Sirius radio to this system with no issues.
