Question

Auto Temp turn off and on.

If I set the thermostat on the heater to a certain temp, will this heater turn off when it hits that temp and when the room temp drops below my required temp will it turn back on?

But I want the heater to stay on as long as I want and do just that?

The default cutoff is 72 degrees, but you can set the thermostat to cutoff at a lower temperature, or raise the default. It will cut back on when the temperature drops below the cutoff.

According to the instructions it will turn off when it drops 1 degree below and will shut off again once the temperature is reached that you set the thermostat at. It won't shut off until it reaches the timer that is set.

It does have a thermostate and it does work, I do not know how accurate it is. And I dont care because I use the heater like you want to, it runs until I shut it off. I just set the temperature up higher than the heater can obtain.

Shouldn't have a problem. We are heating a room that is 12x20 +/-, with 8' ceilings, 4 windows, a picture window and front door. It is also keeping the rest of our first floor noticeably warmer.

Not if it is 10 below outside. This heater is rated at 1500 watts, 5000 BTU, and those ratings are supposed to heat a 400 sq feet. IMHO, that is impossible without help from a central furnace in my state. That said, this heater does better than most I have seen.

My home is all electric; have seen my winter bills decrease $ 150 to 200 per month by using this to only heat the rooms we're in and dropping the central unit thermostat to 58 degrees for the rest of the house.

I have 2 of these heaters which are on their second season running. I use them for my primary heat source in my great room (kitchen / living combo / 500 sq. ft.). So, I can give you a very good average across 2 years, which is around $50 extra per month. Keep in mind that is for 2 of these units running cooperatively in the same room. If it were only 1 unit, then the cost would be higher as it would struggle to heat the room. Average outside temp in my area during January is ~35 degrees F. If you're wondering, my power company charges 9.634 cents /kWh during the cold months. Hope that helps.

It blows out heat similar to a central heating duct. But you can pick it up and move it around the room when it is running. Your pets and children will not be harmed by this heater.

The beauty of this heater is that you can put it just about anywhere. The grill does get hot but you can put the heater in a place that would allow you to keep children and pets out of reach. You may want to get some type of screen guard in front of the heater to keep your children and pets out of the way.

Anwhere from 150 sq ft to 213 sq ft (max). It depends on your climate and home insulation quality and based on a 8 foot ceiling. For the most part, as it is with any 1500 watt heater, 1500 watts = ~5120 BTU's. This might help you... I have 2 of these heating a 500 sq. ft. room, one at each end of the room, and it's very comfortable. They maintain 70 degrees F rather easily in my house.

It doesn't get too hot, just the warmth from the forced heat (blower). And, yes, it does have an automatic shut off and reset button. That way if it is knocked over it will shut down.

ImprovingLife

answer 2
It does have automatic overheat protection. But, you're probably referring to tilt shutdown, which it does not have, and it doesn't really need it anyway. It's built very well as it is a ceramic heater parked firmly behind a metal cage. If it just happens to fall in any way which would block the air flow, then it will overheat and shutdown. Also, only the grill gets hot while it is running. It cools down rather quickly as it shuts off, because the fan continues to blow for about 15 more seconds for a cool down cycle.
