I just purchased this pool, too, just last week, but it is actually made by Intex, if you read the manufacturer's information on the booklet that comes with your pool. My pool even has Intex stamped on the side. So yes, this salt water system will work with your pool.

Why do you have to use this... any water pump will pump saltwater

This system works with your pump. You add salt water directly into your pool. The salt is then turned into chlorine by using this system.

answer 2
This is a chlorine generator, not a pump. You need a pump to "pump" the saltwater into the saltwater chlorinator to make the chlorine. You still need a pump to hook up to the saltwater chlorine generator.

Let say I had the intex that had a air ring you blew up than filled with water. this was a 15x36 worked fine than after our 100 degree days pool got wider & wider as it shrunk down. the sun softens the soft side pools , the water weight stretches it so now u have a 18x26 pool.used ladder at first & months later just step over side to get in salt system will work. if it has no support to it's sides I wouldn't go to the cost for a soft side will just get wider & lower

You probably have Alge growing in your pool. Usually happens because of a lack of cholrine

I haven't seen that except when I used chlorine system but not with the salt water system. It could be caused if you don't cover your pool. If you do cover your pool, I would contact Intex as they have great customer care people who can answer your question. You can also take a sample of your water to a local pool company to see what is causing the problem.

The instruction booklet tells you how much salt you'll need. I think we used around 40 lbs of salt for our 24' x 48" pool. The salt is cheap and you can get it at the big box hardware stores.

you mix this salt around ,throw it in like grass seeding your lawn or feeding birds bread crumbs, move the water around or get in your pool as I did you will no longer feel the salt it is mixed with the water. hasn't hurt my liner last year or this year so far!

answer 2
no, it won't because it dissolves within about an hour. when you add the salt take the brush head on the pole and brush the bottom to move the salt around. this helped the salt dissolve in our pool quickly. make sure you get a highly pure salt like in the video (morton's pool salt). that's what we use

I had too much salt in mine and I had to drain a bunch. This was 2 weeks ago and the grass is growing fine. I also read in other reviews that this does not affect the grass.

My kids have splashed the water out of our pool like crazy and I have not seen any effects to the surrounding grass. The salt levels are not really all that high.

Question

We ran the saltwater system immediately after adding water and salt, before letting the pump run for 24 hours. Will this harm our water levels?

our water has been rusty/green in color since we filled it and added the salt 3 days ago, we have a lot of rust in our well water, but wonder if running the saltwater system right away caused it to be this color?

Rusty means you have a good amount if iron in your water. Research and buy a chemical to get rid of the Iron. If you have a pool shop near you they will know what you need to use.

Take a sample to the pool place. You may need to add some extra chemicals. We had the same problem and needed to shock the pool.
