No, he shouldnt be able to get through. my friend has this gate for 5 little dogs and 1 Lab to keep seperated from the cats, and they said that it works wonders. They have had to cut out one of the bars for the fat cats, but the pugs still cannot get through it....and their tiny kittens have trouble getting through the openings too.

It can be used for pets as well as kids--because all the difference on a pet gate and a baby gate is the fact of the name. If you read any of the pet websites, it has the same gates as the ones for babies.....

This is a difficult question to ask. I would say its not that loud at all. However, what is loud to me may not be loud to you and vice versa. My advice to you as a mother myself. I would not make a home so quite that the slightest noise will wake him/her up. I've always kept the house noisy since the day my child was born. So when there is noises while he's sleeping, he doesnt wake up. Good luck!

answer 3
No the extention fits into the opening that you would put the tenson bracket and the tension bracket would go at the end of the extention and snug up against the wall. you only need hand pressure to tignten the tension bracket on the door facing or on the wall. Can be moved easily and installation takes only a fiew minutes. The tension bracket looks like the leveling screw on the bottom of a washer or dryer or refrigerator.

NO Holes required! I had to use the extension on mine and it was so simple. You simply place the extension into the holes that are in the end of the gate where the original rubber ends go and then into the end of the extension go the rubber ends to fit snug against the walls. Hope this helps.

This gate is pressure mounted and does not require any hardware to be installed into the wall. The extension panel must be used on openings wider than 33-1/2". Once the extension panel is installed, there are "contact pads" that will be pressurized against the wall to complete the installation. Please call ParentLink at 800-233-5921 for more details. We're here Monday - Friday from 8 - 5 EST and will be happy to help with any questions you may have.

The handle has a button on the side and it pushes down. You have to do it at the same time. With two free hands the 3-5 yr olds can get through it with ease. Adult hands are big enough to do both at the same time with one hand. We bought it for the same reason (to keep puppy out) and it is great! It did take my 5 year old a good week to operate the handle with ease. The 3 year olds struggle a little with it but after a few attempts they eventually get it.

To open it, there's a button on each side of the handle that must be squeezed with one hand, like with your thumb (on one side) and forefinger (on the other) while the hand's palm is pushing down and simultaneously swinging door open. Unless your child is taller and stronger (probably 8-10+ in age), this probably isn't the gate you want.

You press a button (there is one on each side) and push down. My 5 year old has been able to open it a few times. We are showing her how to use it. I don't know if a 3 year old would be able to open it though as you need a bit of force to push down the handle.

It will be hard for a child to open. It's hard for me sometimes and I'm 25. I would recommend looking into the black wrought iron looking gate. It's awesome. More sleek. Yeah a little more in price but way worth it! If you have smaller children it will keep them locked out until basically old enough to be able to go in anyways! My nephew figured the gate out at 6. And I recommend the black wrought iron gate better than this one! The brand is like dream baby something.

You can buy them seperate. They come with one extension and I think you can get two more extentions for $14. Just search here at walmart.com thats where we found the extra extentions.

It only comes with one extension. You could add an infinite number of extensions but they are available by themselves.
