I was very disappointed by the sound quality. I purchased the $98 Vizio sound bar and it made all the difference. Before it sounded like the television was inside a tin can.

If you're expecting it to, it may. We were, thanks to some negative reviews, and it sounds a bit tinny. If you aren't looking for it, though, it should sound fine. Just don't expect home theater quality. If you want higher quality, get some decent speakers and hook them up.

answer 6
I bought one of the E320VP sets for my dad, and just returned it today as the sound was so tinny and grates on the nerves. Ended up getting a Toshiba. I have heard that a lot of the LED TV's are getting complaints about speakers as they are so thin the speakers are just capable of producing quality sound. Absolutely no bass on this set. If you will be connecting to a sound system, you will be fine.

There are several inputs for hooking up a DVD player or VCR. The HDMI is the highest quality, but I doubt your VCR has one, as the signal quality is far above anything a VCR is capable of putting out.

You can use the RGB RCA connectors for hooking up your VCR.

2 hdmi. If your dvd player has hdmi connection you can do both, but the tv share component and composite connections so only one peripheral can be connected there you just get to choose the quality of video signal. You could also use the RF input for the vcr if it has that and you don't have standard cable or satellite and have your satellite/cable connected through hdmi.
answered 3 years, 10 months ago
By
Djxjdfkcv
answer 5
Yes, there is one analog A/V input, and the coax connection for your cable/vcr. The HDMI inputs are supposed to give you better quality, for things like bluray and HD receivers.
Not sure about your amp. I'm assuming this is for the audio going to stereo equipment? There is only one audio output which is digital cable. Since the sound quality is so poor on this set, you definitely need to connect it to a sound system if seriously considering this tv.

answer 6
DVD players typically use a composite hookup (The red, white and yellow cables), and VCRs will use either composite or coax. Assuming you aren't using HD cable, the coax will be used by your cable. You would have to share the composite connection by switching the cables as needed.

As for the sound, I'd need to know which type of hookup you were using.

HDMI is the new full high definition (1080p) connection that also has the capabilities of carrying sound and internet. These will be used by computers, bluray players, some surround sound systems or video game systems.

Vizio audio out jack question

Just picked up my VIZIO 32" E320VP LED LCD TV yesterday -- it works JUST FINE ...except, when I plug in my external speakers (to the headphone jack, the only audio output)) it cuts out the speakers inside the TV. Is there any way to keep them ON (short of taking the back off & rewiring the audio)? THANKS.

You can try going back into the menu and turning the TV speakers back on, but I doubt that will work.

Most TVs are designed to cut the OEM audio when you plug in an external audio output.

Connect to a amplifier/receiver through the digital optical audio output. Then you can control whether you have the tv speakers on or not in the audio settings in the menu.

Headphone jacks always cut-off the internal speakers. There is an optical digital audio out but it is only useful if you have a device that accepts optical input. Besides, I've found that the internal speakers are so inferior that I don't use them anyway...hooked mine up to home theater system with optical cable which works great and minimizes the cluster of wires behind the TV.

I agree with others - if you just buy an Internet-ready or Internet blu-ray (which is the correct spelling, btw) player, then that is all you need to make this TV utilize the Internet with this TV. Remember: Internet-ready TV's and blu-ray players are "just that" - [ready] - they do NOT have the wireless already - you have to buy a device, like NetGear $60 Internet adapter from Wal-Mart; UNLESS you get the TV or blu-ray player "fully Internet-enabled" (i.e., with Wireless-N already built-in). But if it has a LAN port (RJ-45 network port), then you get the Netgear Internet adapter from Wal-Mart, then you are set!
