Although the HT-C6500 is ready to accept a wireless connection to allow the rear speakers to be wireless, you will need the SWA-5000 wireless receiver (sold separately) to allow for this setup.

Do you have to purchase the wi-fi dongle seperately or is it truely "built-in"

Comments from "Best Buy" said the wifi dongle is included in the 6600 model and not the 6500 that Wal-mart is offering.

There's no Wi-Fi dongle. Wi-Fi is built in and works just fine. I downloaded a system update via Wi-Fi, so I'm sure it's working.

Yes, you will need a 3.5mm headphone jack to rca (red/white) cable. Connect the headphone jack to computer and rca jack to the aux input on back of theatre system. Depending on the computer you could also connect via hdmi or optical audio.

You can play music saved on your computer. You cannot take a song that is currently playing and transmit it to the Blu-Ray Player.

answer 3
If the computer and theater system are on the same network (wired or WIFI) then you can play music that is saved on your computer from the theater system. You would access the music files from the system. Same goes for video files and photos.

answer 4
Absolutely! You will want to connect your PC to the HT-C6500 in the same way that you would connect any other audio source to it. Although for a PC, you may need a 3.5mm jack to RCA red/white jack cable adapter if your PC does not offer optical outputs.

I am not sure which files are accessible, but no additional hardware is necessary to connect to your wireless router. It is a little tricky getting the wireless connection setup. If your network requires a password, entering the password is hard to do and the instructions are not very clear. However, if you are used to texting on a cell phone, you shouldn't have too much trouble.

I would suggest visiting Samsung's website for a full list of available file formats (some compatible formats are AVI, MKV, and WMV). That said, since the HT-C6500 offers built in WiFi, all you would need is a wireless Home Network to access saved content from a PC and access Internet content.

Can I hook up a cable box via HDMI and still hear the TV through the TV speakers?

Although this functionality should be available if the device is turned on, while in the off position, audio and video will not be transmitted through the receiver since HDCP requires the device to be powered on for pass through. that said, it would be best to connect your cable box directly to the TV, then connect your TV's audio output to the receiver. This will allow you to play audio on the TV when the receiver is not in use.
