Standard Matte but hard smooth surface. Some older LCD screens had no protector and you could see the effects of this when you touched the screen (rainbows appear in the liquid crystal) This TV has a non-glare matte screen that is rigid enough to prevent this and offers great protection for the liquid crystal display underneath.

This tv comes with the small stand shown in the picture. It does not come with anything bigger. I purchased a beautiful stand from JC Penney for less than half price - online. The tv weighs 49 lbs. - some stands have a weight limit. Re: temp. color control - yes, it has one. It has many controls so you can adjust the picture how you like it - many more controls than I expected. Easy to use, too. Stand was difficult to attach. I am loving my new tv.

There are plenty of places to hook up just about anything to this TV. We have the satellite box, Xbox, and Wii connected and there is still places to hook up surround sound and speakers.

answer 4
There is an earphone out jack, an optical audio out jack and a composite (red and white cable) out jack. The composite could be hooked up to speakers (if you have some the same resistance and Ohm as the output specs) but i would recommend connecting the output to a sound processing unit like a home theater sound system instead of just connecting speakers so that the signals could be processed and the Dolby signal could actually be decoded. Otherwise, you would just be using two speakers for the same stereo that the 2 on board ones already provide, since the outputs are not channel coded (left front, right front, center, left back, right back) for a true Dolby 5.1 output.

It does really refresh faster than a 60HZ and you can tell. The picture is so much crisper and there is absolutely no dragging effects at all.

Really 240 hz? And how reliable is Proscan? The history of Proscan name seems sketchy

yes.. this unit is a full 240hz model. Most manufacturers are phasing out the older 60 hz models and most of the 120 hz. The 240 hz will become the standard. And also.. dont be fooled by the big "600 hz" that some plasma TVs have. They do that via software not by actual refresh of the hardware screen. This tv is crystal clear and will deliver better picture in most high speed scenes than most plasmas today. The only thing better will be LED TVs but you will have to way at least 6 months or more for one of those to even be close to this price range... and then they may still not look as good as this LCD does.
